A new family of isostructural Mn-Ln heterometallic clusters, [Mn(II)(2)Mn(III)(2)Ln(III)(2)(Piv)(8)(thme)(2)(H(2)tea)(2)] (H(3)thme = 1,1,1-tris(hydroxymethyl)ethane, Hpiv = pivalic acid, H(3)tea = triethanolamine, and Ln = Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, and Dy) have been prepared by reaction of the hexanuclear manganese precursor, [Mn(6)O(2)(Piv)(10)(4-Me-Py)(2.5)(Hpiv)(1.5)], with H(3)thme, H(3)tea, and Ln(NO(3))(3)·6H(2)O under the solvothermal conditions. Complexes 1Pr-7Dy were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and their core [Mn(2)(III)Mn(2)(II)Ln(2)(III)(μ(3)-OR)(4)(μ(2)-OR)(6)](6+) composed of four face-sharing defected cubane units. Antiferromagnetic (AF) exchange interactions were suggested for all of the complexes by solid-state dc magnetic susceptibility measurements. Complexes 6Tb and 7Dy, show frequency-dependent ac susceptibility signals suggestive of slow magnetic relaxation.

The emerging prevalence of antimicrobial resistance demands cutting-edge therapeutic agents to treat bacterial infections. We present a synthetic strategy to construct sequence-defined oligomers (SDOs) by using dithiocarbamate (DTC). The antibacterial activity of the synthesized library of SDOs was studied using a Gram-positive and a Gram-negative .

Catalysis plays a vital role in green chemistry by improving process efficiency, reducing waste, and minimizing environmental impact. A biochar-modified g-CN·SOH (BCNSA) catalyst was developed using biochar derived from amla seed powder and CNSA. CNSA was synthesized the reaction of g-CN with chlorosulfonic acid.

The syntheses of stereoisomers of butane, butanediol, γ-butyrolactone, tri-substituted tetrahydrofuran (7,9'-epoxy), furofuran, tetra-substituted tetrahydrofuran (7,7'-epoxy and 7,8'-epoxy-8,7'-neolignan), benzylidene, coumarin, indan, and pyran type lignans were achieved. All the stereoisomers of the butane type lignans showed larvicidal activity and anti-phytopathogenic fungal activity. The γ-butyrolactone lignan showed stereospecific cytotoxicity against insect cells.

To further improve the performance of PA66 and expand its applications, a new strategy was proposed to introduce an alicyclic structure into PA66 chain by the copolymerization method. Initially, 3,3'-dimethyl-4,4'-diaminodicyclohexylmethane (MACM) was reacted with 1,6-adipic acid to form MACM6 salt, and then, it was copolymerized with PA66 salt to synthesize PA66/MACM6 copolymers with alicyclic structures. PA66/MACM6 copolymers exhibited good thermal stabilities, and the presence of alicyclic structure had no significant effect on their thermal stabilities.
