Article Abstract

Purpose: To compare & evaluate postoperative complications & treatment outcome in mandibular fracture fixation using 2.0 mm titanium miniplates & 3-D locking plates.

Method: 30 patients were divided randomly into two groups of 15 each (including comminuted & malunited fractures). GROUP A was treated with Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF) using 2.0 mm miniplates & GROUP B with 3-D locking plates.

Results: A total of five complications were observed in four patients: Implant exposure & infection in miniplate group & postoperative neurosensory deficit, implant failure & implant exposure in 3-D group.

Conclusion: For fractures in symphysis & parasymphysis region, severely displaced angle fractures and for comminuted fractures 3-D locking plate could be a better option. In the angle & body region a single miniplate fixed according to Champy's technique is easy to place with less surgical time, less surgical trauma, is more economical & has similar clinical results.

We sought to examine how resistance training (RT) status in young healthy individuals, either well resistance trained (T, n=10) or untrained (UT, n=11), affected molecular markers with leg immobilization followed by recovery RT. All participants underwent two weeks of left leg immobilization via a locking leg brace. Afterwards, all participants underwent eight weeks (3 d/week) of knee extensor focused progressive RT.

(Blume and T. Nees) Torrend is a traditionally well-known mushroom that is used for the treatment of cancer. In order to evaluate the pharmacological activities of polysaccharides, the mushroom powder was subjected to hot water extraction and pure polysaccharides (ARPs) were isolated by gel-filtration method.

The microbial consortium involving anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) and partial denitrification (PD), known as PD-anammox, is an emerging energy-efficient and lower carbon nitrogen removal process from wastewater. However, maintaining a stable PD process by locking nitrate reduction until nitrite was challenging. This study established the first stable connection of anammox with constant nitrite generation by PD bacteria under a low-strength (1.

Introduction: Minimally invasive resection for perihilar cholangiocarcinoma is an emerging technique that requires both mastery in minimally invasive liver resection and biliary reconstruction. Due to technical difficulties in biliovascular dissection, radical portal lymphadenectomy and the need for fine suturing during bilioenteric anastomosis, this type of resection is generally not performed laparoscopically, even at high-volume, liver-surgery centers. In modern literature, a detailed, operative description of robotic technique for this operation with outcome data is lacking.
