Clusterin deficiency exacerbates cholestatic liver disease through ER stress and NLRP3 inflammasome activation.

Cell Biosci

March 2025

Department of Internal Medicine, School of Medicine, Institute for Medical Science, Keimyung University, Daegu, Korea.

Background: Cholestatic liver disease, characterized by impaired bile flow, leads to the accumulation of harmful metabolites and toxins, resulting in liver damage. Inflammatory cytokines are crucial for the progression of this condition. Clusterin is a glycoprotein with roles in cell death, lipid transport, and cellular protection.

Background: Epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) are remarkably effective for treating EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, patients inevitably develop acquired drug resistance, resulting in recurrence or metastasis. It is important to identify novel effective therapeutic targets to reverse acquired TKI resistance.

PLZF-expressing CD4 T cells promote tissue-resident memory T cells in breaking immune tolerance in allergic asthma via IL-15/IL-15Rα signaling.

Cell Commun Signal

March 2025

Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Shanghai Fifth People's Hospital, Fudan University, Shanghai, China.

Background: Allergic asthma is a chronic airway disease characterized by an allergic response and altered immune tolerance. CD4 tissue-resident memory T (TRM) cells are crucial in the chronic and relapsing pathogenesis of asthma. Furthermore, promyelocytic leukemia zinc finger (PLZF) is an essential transcription factor involved in asthmatic tolerance and has been implicated in the regulation of CD4CD44 memory T cells.

Background: Currently, the primary methods for detecting HER2 expression levels are immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH), with the traditional standard being a HER2-positive score of 3 + accompanied by ERBB2 gene amplification detected through ISH. However, a new entity has recently emerged: HER2-low, defined as HER2 IHC 1 + or 2 + with negative ISH. HER2-low breast cancer, representing 45-60% of all HER2-negative tumors, has distinct biological characteristics and uncertain responses to conventional HER2-targeted therapies.
