We investigated how near-infrared imaging could improve highly infiltrative spontaneous fibrosarcoma surgery in 12 cats in a clinical veterinary phase. We used an RGD-based nanoprobe at different doses and times before surgery and a portable clinical grade imaging system. All tumours were labelled by the tracer and had an overall tumour-to-healthy tissue ratio of 14±1 during surgery. No false negatives were found, and the percentage of tumour cells was linearly correlated with the fluorescence intensity. All cats recovered well and were submitted to long-term follow-up that is currently on-going 1year after the beginning of the study.

Hodgkin Reed-Sternberg (HRS) cells of classic Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL), like many solid tumors, elicit ineffective immune responses. However, patients with cHL are highly responsive to PD-1 blockade, which largely depends on HRS cell-specific retention of MHC class II and implicates CD4 T cells and additional MHC class I-independent immune effectors. Here, we utilize single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial analysis to define shared circulating and microenvironmental features of the immune response to PD-1 blockade in cHL.

Background: Pollution of aquatic environments with heavy metals causes severe adverse effects on fish, invertebrates, and human. The importance of this study lies in the fact that long-term ingestion of heavy metal-contaminated fish can result in the accumulation of harmful metals in numerous organs and pose a major risk to human health.
Aim: The current study was designed to investigate the concentrations of toxic arsenic (As), lead (Pb), and mercury (Hg) in the liver, gills, and muscles of highly consumed aqua cultured common carp ( L.

Backgrounds/aims: Transmembrane 4 L six family member 1 (TM4SF1) is highly expressed in and contributes to the progression of various malignancies. However, how it modulates hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression and senescence remains to be elucidated.
Methods: TM4SF1 expression in HCC samples was evaluated using immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry.

The host immune system is adapted in a variety of ways by tumour microenvironment and growing tumour interacts to promote immune escape. One of these adaptations is manipulating the metabolic processes of cells in the tumour microenvironment. The growing tumour aggressively utilise glucose, its primary energy source available in tumour site, and produce lactate by Warburg effect.

Objective: A comprehensive bioinformatics analysis was conducted to investigate potential new diagnostic biomarkers and immune infiltration characteristics associated with tubulointerstitial injury in lupus nephritis (LN), and to examine possible correlations between key genes and infiltrating immune cells.
Methods: The GSE32591, GSE113342, and GSE200306 datasets were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus database and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified in the pooled dataset. Support vector machine-recursive feature elimination analysis and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression model were used to screen for possible markers, and the compositional patterns of the 22 types of immune cell fractions in LN were determined using CIBERSORT.
