Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is rapidly transforming various sectors, including healthcare and education. This paper explores the potential opportunities and risks of GenAI in graduate medical education (GME). We review the existing literature and provide commentary on how GenAI could impact GME, including five key areas of opportunity: electronic health record (EHR) workload reduction, clinical simulation, individualized education, research and analytics support, and clinical decision support.

Forecasting student performance with precision in the educational space is paramount for creating tailor-made interventions capable to boost learning effectiveness. It means most of the traditional student performance prediction models have difficulty in dealing with multi-dimensional academic data, can cause sub-optimal classification and generate a simple generalized insight. To address these challenges of the existing system, in this research we propose a new model Multi-dimensional Student Performance Prediction Model (MSPP) that is inspired by advanced data preprocessing and feature engineering techniques using deep learning.

Understanding how market demand influences academic research is crucial for comprehending the innovation process and informing policy decisions. This study examines the impact of the 2003 Medicare Part D legislation on biomedical journal article production across diseases. Using a difference-in-differences framework, together with a sample of over 2 million original research articles published between 1987 and 2015 sourced from PubMed database, I find a relatively 18.

Background: Extreme hemodynamic changes, especially intraoperative hypotension (IOH), are common and often prolonged during Liver Transplant (LT) surgery and during initial hours of recovery. Hypotension Prediction Index (HPI) software is one of the tools which can help in proactive hemodynamic management. The accuracy of the advanced hemodynamic parameters such as Cardiac Output (CO) and Systemic Vascular Resistance (SVR) obtained from HPI software and prediction performance of the HPI in LT surgery remains unknown.

Objective: To assess the impact of a planned research gap year (RGY) on match outcomes and research productivity among urology residency applicants in the context of the highly competitive urology specialty and the new pass/fail format for the USMLE Step 1 exam.
Methods: We conducted an IRB-approved analysis of applicants to our program during the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 application cycles. Data on demographics, medical school rank, having a home urology program, USMLE Step 1 scores, and ERAS research entries were collected.
