Children comprise approximately one-quarter of all visits to most emergency departments. Children are generally healthier than adults, yet there are similar priorities in assessment and management of pediatric patients. The initial approach to airway, breathing, and circulation still applies and is first and foremost in the evaluation of young infants and children. There are certain anatomic, physiologic, developmental, and social considerations that are unique to this population and must be taken into account during their evaluation and treatment. In this review, we present and discuss an evidence-based approach to high-yield procedures necessary for all emergency physicians taking care of children.

Gluing is a critical step in aircraft sealing assembly, with glue profile inspection serving as the final quality assurance measure to ensure consistency and accuracy of the sealant coating, allowing timely detection and correction of defects to maintain assembly integrity and safety. Currently, existing glue inspection systems are limited to basic inspection capabilities, lack result digitization, and exhibit low efficiency. This paper proposes a 3D inspection technology for sealant coating quality based on line-structured light, enabling automated and high-precision inspection of sealant thickness, sealant width, positional accuracy, and overlap joint sealant contour through geometric computation.

Hox genes play a pivotal role during development. Their expression is tightly controlled in a spatiotemporal manner, ensuring that specific body structures develop at the correct locations and times during development. Various genomics approaches have been used to capture temporal and dynamic regulation of Hox gene expression at the nucleosome/chromatin level.

Electrophoretic Mobility Shift Assay (EMSA) is a powerful technique for studying nucleic acid and protein interactions. This technique is based on the principle that nucleic acid-protein complex and nucleic acid migrate at different rates due to differences in size and charge. Nucleic acid and protein interactions are fundamental to various biological processes, such as gene regulation, replication, transcription, and recombination.

Background: The incidence of thyroid cancer has increased annually, but the risk factors for thyroid cancer are still unclear. In this umbrella review, we aimed to identify associations between nongenetic risk factors and thyroid cancer incidence, and assess the quality and validity of the evidence.
Methods: PubMed, Embase and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews were searched to identify related meta-analyses or systematic reviews of epidemiological studies.
Chronic fracture-related infection is a complex, costly clinical problem with a wide spectrum of clinical presentations. The goals of treatment are infection control with a healed fracture covered by well-vascularized soft tissue and improvement of patient pain and function. Management is both medical, with culture-targeted antimicrobial agents, and surgical, requiring meticulous irrigation and débridement.
