MR-tomography was used for investigation of 129 patients with various diseases of the kidneys, liver, pancreas, organs of the small pelvis, brain and spinal marrow. Possibilities of the use and practical value of new MRT methods--MR-urography and MR-myelography (MRu and MRm) were studied. They made it possible to detect within a short period of time (40-60 sec.) the presence of fluid in an examined volume. MRu was the most informative method in cystic lesions of various organs looking like round-shaped formations with a high intensity signal. MRm was highly informative in the diagnosis of syringomyelia, informative for the determination of the state of the brain ventricular system. MRm performed in different planes and their summation with images of common MR-sections makes the interpretation of the obtained data much easier. MRm is desirable in suspected fluid in an examined volume or in order to specify the state of the cerebral liquor system.

Paradoxical effects of inhibition of Δ14-reductase and Δ7-reductase on porcine oocyte maturation and subsequent embryo development after parthenogenetic activation.

Theriogenology

Follicular fluid-derived meiosis-activating sterol (FF-MAS), an intermediate in the cholesterol biosynthesis pathway, plays a crucial role in the meiotic resumption of mammalian oocytes. Maintaining a high concentration of FF-MAS in vitro is challenging; therefore, AY9944 A-7, an inhibitor of Δ14-reductase [which converts FF-MAS to testis meiosis-activating sterol (T-MAS)] and Δ7-reductase (which converts T-MAS to cholesterol), has been used to enhance oocyte maturation. This study examined the effects of various concentrations (0, 10, 20, and 40 μM) of AY9944 A-7 on porcine oocyte maturation and subsequent embryo development.

This study explores the process of becoming-scientist-with, a dynamic and relational concept that redefines science identity development as a nonlinear, evolving journey. Focused on a Black male student, Travis, the study examines how his science identity was shaped through entanglements with various material and discursive forces across multiple science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM) learning spaces. Becoming-scientist-with is conceptualized as a continual negotiation of identity within these environments, emphasizing the roles of power, systemic racism, and institutional practices in shaping students' experiences.

Purpose: To determine the accuracy of nursing diagnoses at hospital admission and discharge for patients with heart failure (HF).

Methods: This comparative study examined the documentation in 155 medical records of patients with an admitting diagnosis of HF during August 2018 and July 2019. An audit tool was used to record the diagnoses made by nurses during routine care at the time of admission and discharge.

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of different manipulation methods and storage environments on the microstructural, chemical, and mechanical properties of calcium-enriched mixture (CEM) cement. Four sample groups were examined, including nondried (ND-I) and dried (D-I) groups placed directly in an incubator, dried samples stored in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) (D-P), and dried samples stored in distilled water (D-W). Various analyses, including Vickers microhardness, compressive strength, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) were conducted after incubating the samples for 7 days.

The effects of poor fluid milk experience on store choice and customer loyalty in online and in-store retail channels.

Dairy producers work extensively to ensure quality, but there is limited information on how poor experience with milk affects consumer choice. This study uses an online survey of 725 US consumers to assess how a poor experience with milk affects purchase behavior in different channels. We examine the relationship between product experience and purchase behavior and find that a poor experience is associated with a greater likelihood of switching stores and with lower net promoter scores, suggesting that having high quality milk may improve customer loyalty.
