Objective: To investigate whether advanced paternal age is associated with increased psychotic-like experiences (PLEs) and increased sensitivity to Cannabis in the offspring.
Methods: A cross-sectional population-based study in 1684 participants aged 18 to 25.
Results: We found no association of paternal age with PLEs. Only the positive dimension subscale was associated to paternal age, but that could be largely contributed to outliers. Also no increased sensitivity to Cannabis smoking was apparent.
Conclusion: In the general population, we did not find robust support for an association between paternal age and vulnerability to PLEs in 18-25year old offspring.

Background: Paternal preconception alcohol exposure affects fetal development; however, it is largely unknown about the influences on offspring vasculature and mechanisms.
Methods: Offspring born form paternal rats treated with alcohol or water before pregnant was raised until 3 months of age. Vessel tone of mesenteric arteries was detected using myograph system; whole-cell calcium channel current in smooth muscle cells was tested using patch-clamp; molecule expressions were detected with real-time PCR, western blotting, and Dihydroethidium (DHE); DNA methylations were determined using targeted bisulfate sequencing assay.

A strong body of evidence has underscored the cross-cultural importance of nurturing parent-child relationships for promoting early child development outcomes. However, most research on parenting has predominantly relied on self-reported measures collected from mothers. Observational tools for assessing parent-child interactions from not only mothers but also fathers remains limited, especially in Majority World contexts.

Purpose: This study aimed to identify demographic and clinical factors associated with low maturation rates and to investigate if the rate of immature oocytes impacts the outcomes of mature sibling oocytes.
Methods: Women undergoing their first IVF-ICSI cycle between 2018 and 2022 at a fertility clinic were included. Cycles were classified into five groups according to the proportion of Metaphase II stage oocytes (MII): Null (0% MII, n = 46), Poor (1-25% MII, n = 44), Low (26-50% MII, n = 453), Acceptable (51-75% MII, n = 1641), and Optimal (76-100% MII, n = 2642).

The aims of this research work were twofold: (1) to validate the factor structure of the Spanish version of the Emotionality, Activity and Sociability Temperament Survey (EAS) and (2) to analyse the relationship between child temperament, and parental stress and rewards, testing the possible moderating roles of gender and social support. The reference population was a group of mothers and fathers with children in early childhood education (aged 0-5). For the first study, we used a sample of 701 subjects (70.

Epigenetics is the link between the genome and environment, which can respond to physiological (such as age) or environmental factors (such as diet, stress, and pollution) and induce changes in epigenetic modifications (such as DNA methylation, non-coding RNA, and histone modifications). It can also serve as cellular memory transmitted from generation to generation. Sperm is highly responsive to such environmental changes and has unique epigenetic profiles.
