Background: Despite affecting 2-4% of the population worldwide, fibromyalgia often remains refractory to treatment. Here we report the first international randomised double-blind, sham-controlled trial developed to assess the efficacy of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) as an add-on therapy for fibromyalgia.

Methods: Women aged ≥18 yr with fibromyalgia refractory to best available treatment were enrolled in Brazil, France, and Japan, and randomised to 10 Hz motor cortex (M1) rTMS, 3000 pulses day, or sham stimulation.

Intelligent control strategies can significantly enhance the efficiency of model parameter adjustment. However, existing intelligent motion control strategies for robotic arms based on the broad learning system lack sufficient accuracy and fail to account for the effects of joint motion limitations on overall control performance. To address the aforementioned challenges, this paper proposes a robotic arm motion control strategy based on a deep cascaded feature-enhanced Bayesian broad learning system with motion constraints (MC-DCBLS).

Background: Discussing advance care planning (ACP) preferences for nasogastric tube (NG) insertion remains challenging among older adults. Multimedia decision-making aids have demonstrated potential to enhance understanding and support informed decision-making.

Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of the EATING program (multimedia decision-making aids + traditional educational module) compared to usual care (traditional educational module alone) in improving ACP readiness on NG insertion for community older adults with chronic illness.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey was performed for assessing the gender distribution in Editorial Board (EB) roles of journals indexed under Clarivate Journal Citation Reports and Scimago Journal & Country Rank. The influences of editorial roles and of journal rank (separated in quartiles) on gender balance were also assessed.

Bone strength is a major contributor to fracture risk. Areal bone mineral density (aBMD) obtained from dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) is used as a surrogate for bone strength in fracture risk prediction. 3D finite element (FE) models predict bone strength better than aBMD but need 3D computed tomography and are not automated.
