Sequential sampling from animals challenged with highly pathogenic organisms, such as haemorrhagic fever viruses, is required for many pharmaceutical studies. Using the guinea pig model of Ebola virus infection, a catheterized system was used which had the benefits of allowing repeated sampling of the same cohort of animals, and also a reduction in the use of sharps at high biological containment. Levels of a PS-targeting antibody (Bavituximab) were measured in Ebola-infected animals and uninfected controls. Data showed that the pharmacokinetics were similar in both groups, therefore Ebola virus infection did not have an observable effect on the half-life of the antibody.

Deciphering the link between tissue architecture and function requires methods to identify and interpret patterns in spatial arrangement of cells. We present SMORE, an approach to detect patterns in sequential arrangements of cells and examine their associated gene expression specializations. Applied to retina, brain, and embryonic tissue maps, SMORE identifies novel spatial motifs, including one that offers a new mechanism of action for type 1b bipolar cells.

This study aims to suggest and empirically evaluate a conceptual framework that investigates the association of career self-efficacy with career intentions, emphasizing on the specific and sequential mediating mechanisms of two psychological constructs: person-environment (P-E) fit and career attitudes. Relationships among the constructs were hypothesized based on the relevant literature and were examined with AMOS and SPSS Process Macro using survey data collected from a sample of 341 job seekers in Bangladesh. Results showed that P-E fit and career attitudes each partially mediated the relationship between career self-efficacy and career intentions.

Background: Neurofibrillary tangles (NFT), consisting of hyperphosphorylated tau aggregates, are one of the major pathological hallmarks of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The burden of NFTs correlates with cognitive decline, and in vivo detection of NFT may help predict the clinical progression of AD. Mass spectrometry-based proteomic analysis of brain regions affected by NFTs holds the potential to unveil the molecular mechanisms underlying tau pathogenesis and uncover novel diagnostic/prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

Background: Sense of coherence (SoC) is a core concept of 'salutogenesis' in positive psychology, correlated with emotional distress and disease development in adults with chronic disease and older adults. A diversity of non-pharmacological interventions (NPIs) has been developed to enhance SoC, but research findings are conflicting and the adequacy of sample sizes is uncertainty.
Objective: This paper aimed to explore appropriate interventions, evaluate the effectiveness of these SoC interventions and verify the statistical robustness and reliability of pooled results.
