Since oophorectomy in healthy women predates the commercialization of BRCA mutations screens, genomics cannot explain entirely why physicians and cancer specialists recommend this procedure for women at risk. Rather, one must situate the development of reproductive cancer genomics within a broader sociocultural context in which researchers bring to bear habits of mind about women, reproduction and motherhood. Abnormality of granulosa cells (GCs) is the critical cause of follicular atresia in premature ovarian failure (POF). RIPK3 is highly expressed in GCs derived from atretic follicles. We focus on uncovering how RIPK3 contributes to ovarian GC senescence.

Background/objectives: Both hyperandrogenism (HA) and vitamin D deficiency (VDD) can separately lead to impaired vascular reactivity and ovulatory dysfunction in fertile females. The aim was to examine the early interactions of these states in a rat model of PCOS.
Methods: Four-week-old adolescent female rats were divided into four groups: vitamin D (VD)-supplemented ( = 12); VD-supplemented and testosterone-treated ( = 12); VDD- ( = 11) and VDD-and-testosterone-treated ( = 11).

is a species of significant economic importance in China's aquaculture industry. In order to investigate the variations in morphologic and nutritional profiles of farmed crabs across diverse farming regions, were collected from six aquafarms located in the primary cultivation areas in China. The findings revealed significant variations in specific morphological indices, but these are insufficient for clear regional distinction using PCA.

is a protogynous hermaphroditic fish that changes from female to male, but the underlying sex change mechanism remains as-yet unknown. In this study, we firstly cloned and characterized the sequence and protein structure of of We found that the genomic structure of was different from other species. Expression was detected in the developing gonad by applying qRT-PCR and in situ hybridization.

The brain presents various structural and functional sex differences, for which multiple factors are attributed: genetic, epigenetic, metabolic, and hormonal. While biological sex is determined by both sex chromosomes and sex hormones, little is known about how these two factors interact to establish this dimorphism. Sex differences in the brain also affect its resident immune cells, microglia, which actively survey the brain parenchyma and interact with sex hormones throughout life.
