We present an analytical and experimental study of split shape dose calculation correction by adjusting the position of the round leaf end position in an intensity-modulated radiation therapy treatment planning system. The precise light field edge position (Xtang.p ) was derived from 50% of the central axis dose created by nominal light field using geometry and mathematical methods. Leaf position (Xmlc.p), defined in the treatment planning system for monitor unit calculation, could be derived from Xtang.p. Offset (correction) could be obtained by the position corresponding to 50% of the central axis dose minus the Xmlc.p position. For SSD from 90 cm to 120 cm at 6 MV and 10 MV, the 50% dose position was located outside of Xmlc,p in the MLC leaf position range of +8 cm to -8 cm, where the offset correction positively increased, whereas the offset correction negatively increased when the MLC leaf position was in the range of -12 cm to -8 cm and +20 cm to +8 cm when the 50% position was located inside Xmlc,p. The monitor unit calculation could provide underdosage or overdosage of 7.5% per mm without offset correction. Calibration could be performed at a certain SSD to fit all SSD offset corrections. With careful measurement and an accurate offset correction, it is possible to achieve the dose calculation with 0.5% error for the adjusted MLC leaf edge location in the treatment planning system.

Background: Hallux valgus (HV) is a complex, multiplanar deformity. In this study, we examined the interrelationships between various components of this deformity using weightbearing computed tomography (WBCT). We hypothesized that the severity of traditional axial plane deformities would correlate with malpositioning of the metatarsosesamoid complex, first-ray coronal rotational deformity, and malalignment of the hindfoot and midfoot.

Objective: This study evaluated the effects of bony increased offset (BIO) and metallic augments (MAs) on primary reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) baseplate stability in cadaveric specimens with variable bone densities.
Methods: Thirty cadaveric specimens were analyzed in an imaging and biomechanical investigation. Computed tomography (CT) scans allowed for preoperative RSA planning and bone density analysis.

Purpose: The application of histotripsy, an emerging noninvasive, non-ionizing, and non-thermal tumor treatment, is currently limited by the inherent limitations of diagnostic ultrasound as the sole targeting modality. This study evaluates the feasibility and accuracy of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) guidance for histotripsy treatments in an porcine model.
Materials And Methods: Histotripsy treatments were performed in the liver of seven healthy swine under the guidance of a C-arm CBCT system that was calibrated to the robotic arm of the histotripsy system.

Background: Nonweightbearing preoperative assessments avoid quadriceps contraction that tends to affect patellar motion and appear to be inaccurate in quantifying anatomic factors, which can lead to incorrect corrections and postoperative complications.
Questions/purposes: (1) Does the relationship of patellar axial malalignment and other anatomic factors change during weightbearing? (2) What anatomic factor was most strongly correlated with recurrent patellar dislocation during weightbearing?
Methods: This prospective, comparative, observational study recruited participants at our institution between January 2023 and September 2023. During this time, all patients with recurrent patellar dislocations received both weightbearing and nonweightbearing CT scans; control patients who received unilateral CT scans because of injuries or benign tumors received both weightbearing and nonweightbearing CT scans.

Aim: The combination of positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) provides an innovation leap in the use of fertilized chicken eggs (in ovo model) in preclinical imaging as PET/MRI enables the investigation of the chick embryonal organ-specific distribution of PET-tracers. However, hybrid PET/MRI inheres technical challenges in quantitative in ovo PET such as attenuation correction (AC) for the object as well as for additional hardware parts present in the PET field-of-view, which potentially contribute to quantification biases in the PET images if not accounted for. This study aimed to investigate the influence of the different sources of attenuation on in ovo PET/MRI and assess the accuracy of MR-based AC for in ovo experiments.
