Background: Irisin is an exercise-induced myokine that elicits beneficial effects of exercise in fat, bone, and the brain. Previous work suggests that extracellular heat shock protein 90a (Hsp90a) mediates irisin-receptor interaction in bone and fat. Despite this, it remains unclear if Hsp90a is necessary for irisin signaling in the brain.

Background: Care partners commonly support patients living with dementia (PLWD) during and post-hospitalization, however, they frequently report feeling excluded from care and unprepared for their caregiving tasks. While the evidence-informed and validated Care Partner Hospital Assessment Tool (CHAT) was designed to better include and prepare family members and friends, it has not yet been adapted for the growing number of care partners supporting PLWD.
Objective: To adapt and finalize the CHAT for care partners of hospitalized PLWD.

High throughput intracellular delivery of biological macromolecules is crucial for cell engineering, gene expression, therapeutics, diagnostics, and clinical studies; however, most existing techniques are either contact-based or have throughput limitations. Herein, we report a light-activated, contactless, high throughput photoporation method for highly efficient and viable cell transfection of more than a million cells within a minute. We fabricated reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanoflakes that was mixed with a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) nanocomposite thin sheet with an area of 3 cm and a thickness of ∼600 μm.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between bone mineral density (BMD), body mass index (BMI), and trabecular bone score (TBS) among middle-aged and older men with or without benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted using health examination data from male participants aged 50-98 years collected at a regional hospital in southern Taiwan.
