Purpose: The authors propose a graphical representation of the relation between the effect on the tumor and the damage effect on an organ at risk (OAR) against the irradiation dose, as an aid for choosing an appropriate fractionation regimen.

Methods: The graphical relation is depicted by the radiation effect on the tumor E(1) versus that on an OAR E(0). By observing the features of the E(1) vs E(0) relation curve, i.e., convex or concave shape, one can judge whether multifractionation is better or not. This method is applied to the linear-quadratic model (with α and β parameters) as an example. Further, the method is extended to the general case for nonuniform dose distribution to the OAR, which is frequently seen in clinical situations.

Results: The criterion for selecting multi- or hypofractionation is based on the relation between the dose for the OAR and the α∕β ratio of the OAR to the tumor. It is also shown that the graphical relation enables us to estimate the final effect after multifractionated treatment by plotting a tangent line on the curve.

Conclusions: The graphical representation method is of use for improving planning in radiotherapy by determining the effective fractionation scheme.

Cardiovascular risk factors begin in childhood and track into adulthood, increasing the possibility of impaired cardiometabolic health. Adopting healthy dietary patterns can help curb childhood obesity, a worrisome epidemic problem at present. In the era of personalized nutrition, dietary recommendations should be adapted to different stages of life, including children (older than 3 years) and adolescents.

Neurocysticercosis (NCC) has been classified as a neglected tropical disease by the World Health Organization (WHO), with the condition being regarded as the most significant parasitic disease affecting the nervous system. Hence, the aim of this study was to conduct a review of previously published case reports on this topic in order to ascertain whether there is an increasing trend of NCC worldwide and evaluate the cases that have been presented. After a comprehensive search of the Web of Science Core Collection using the keywords "neurocysticercosis" and "case reports", studies were selected by applying inclusion criteria.

Background: The aging global population and the rising prevalence of chronic disease and multimorbidity have strained health care systems, driving the need for expanded health care resources. Transitioning to home-based care (HBC) may offer a sustainable solution, supported by technological innovations such as Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) platforms. However, the full potential of IoMT platforms to streamline health care delivery is often limited by interoperability challenges that hinder communication and pose risks to patient safety.

Eating disorders (EDs) pose significant challenges to mental and physical health, particularly among adolescents and young adults, with the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbating risk factors. Despite advancements in psychosocial and pharmacological treatments, improvements remain limited. Early intervention in EDs, inspired by the model developed for psychosis, emphasizes the importance of timely identification and treatment initiation to improve prognosis.

Background: The objective of this review is to evaluate the methodological quality of meta-analyses and observe the consistency of the evidence they generated to provide comprehensive and reliable evidence for the clinical use of three-dimensional (3D) printing in surgical treatment of fracture.

Methods: We searched three databases (PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science) up until August 2024. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) standards were adhered to in this review.
