Background: Doravirine is licensed in patients living with HIV (PWH) harbouring no prior resistance to any NNRTIs. We aimed to evaluate in real life the efficacy of doravirine with prior NNRTI virological failure and NNRTI resistance-associated mutations (RAMs).

Methods: This observational study included PWH switched to a doravirine-containing regimen between 30 September 2019 and 1 May 2022, with an HIV-1 RNA of ≤50 copies/mL and past NNRTI-RAMs.

Food safety challenges, such as mycotoxin contamination, pose severe threats to public health, agricultural productivity, and economic development across Sub-Saharan African countries and beyond. This study investigated whether government policies related to food safety adequately address these concerns, using Malawi as a case study. We systematically reviewed 29 government-authored policy documents related to food safety.

Studies intended to estimate the effect of a treatment, like randomized trials, may not be sampled from the desired target population. To correct for this discrepancy, estimates can be transported to the target population. Methods for transporting between populations are often premised on a positivity assumption, such that all relevant covariate patterns in one population are also present in the other.

Mixed nontuberculous mycobacteria in an immunocompromised patient with probable progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy.

SAMRC Centre for Tuberculosis Research, Division of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics, Faculty of Medicine and Human Genetics, Stellenbosch University, Cape Town, South Africa.

Objectives: Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) are increasingly recognized opportunistic pathogens found ubiquitously in the environment. The presence of multiple NTM species at the site of disease complicates diagnosis and treatment.

Case And Management: A 40-year-old patient who tested positive for HIV, with an absolute clusters of differentiation 4+ T-cell count of 3 cells/µl and cryptococcaemia, presented with hemoptysis, productive cough, and weight loss.
