Clostridioides difficile infections are difficult and serious problem occurring in patients staying in intensive care units. In recent years, the number and severity of these infections, as well as the mortality rate, have been increasing, posing a serious epidemiological problem. This is caused, among other factors, by stressors, artificial nutrition, and sepsis, which lead to disturbances in the patients' microbiome.

Herein, we present a case of serious protein-energy malnutrition in an elderly critically ill patient with situs inversus totalis. It was difficult to implement enteral nutrition in this patient for more than 2 months of hospitalisation in another hospital, and we applied electromagnetic navigation guidance to implement enteral nutrition after successful placement of nasojejunal tubes. We reviewed the management of enteral nutrition support.

One in every three critically ill patients who receive prolonged analgosedation may experience difficult sedation, negatively influencing their evolution and prognosis. Difficult sedation includes situations of therapeutic failure, tolerance or deprivation of analgesic and sedative drugs. Its origin is multifactorial and depends on the patient's characteristics, history of drug consumption, critical condition and the administration of drugs that alter the pharmacokinetics of the sedatives used.

Die-forging structural parts are widely used in the main load-bearing components of aircrafts because of their excellent mechanical properties and fatigue resistance. However, the forming and heat treatment processes of die-forging structural parts are complex, leading to high levels of internal stress and a complex distribution of residual stress fields (RSFs), which affect the deformation, fatigue life, and failure of structural parts throughout their lifecycles. Hence, the global RSF can provide the basis for process control.

Background: Critically ill patients who develop invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA) have high mortality rates despite antifungal therapy. Diagnosis is difficult in these patients and incidences vary in the literature. Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid galactomannan (GM) is a helpful marker, although the optimal cutoff is unclear.
