In this work, the Schwarz primitive unit cell is used as the building block of different types of metastructures for steering and focusing elastic vibrations. The emergence of a Bragg-type bandgap when constructing a two-dimensional plate from such unit cells is experimentally validated. It is demonstrated that increasing both mass and porosity of the Schwarz primitive leads to a decrease in the frequency of the out-of-plane propagating wave targeted in this study.

Naturally occurring polymeric structures often consist of 1D polymer chains intricately folded and entwined through non-covalent bonds, adopting precise topologies crucial for their functionality. The exploration of crystalline 1D polymers through dynamic covalent chemistry (DCvC) and supramolecular interactions represents a novel approach for developing crystalline polymers. This study shows that sub-angstrom differences in the counter-ion size can lead to various helical covalent polymer (HCP) topologies, including a novel metal-coordination HCP (m-HCP) motif.

Cytoarchitectonical dynamic of Sertoli cells in Melanorivulus punctatus (Cyprinodontiformes: Rivulidae).

Micron

February 2013

Instituto de Biociências, Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso, Av. Fernando Corrêa da Costa, n° 2367, Bairro Boa Esperança, Cuiabá 78060-900, MT, Brazil.

The Sertoli cell contributes to spermatogenesis acting in the differentiation of germ cells and being the only somatic cells present in the germinal compartment. So that spermatogenesis is primarily dependent of Sertoli-Sertoli and Sertoli-germ cell interactions once Sertoli cells provide critical factors necessary for a successful differentiation of germ cells to sperm. In teleost fish the cytoplasmic extensions of Sertoli cells support the cysts that remain closed until spermiogenesis.
