A 13-month-old female domestic shorthair cat presented with a 10-month history of polyuria and polydipsia that began after having been hit by a car. Neurological examination revealed visual deficits and an absent bilateral menace response. Hematological and serum biochemical analyses were within reference values, but hyposthenuria was identified. Failure to concentrate urine during the water deprivation test followed by an increase in urine specific gravity after administration of synthetic antidiuretic hormone (ADH) suggested a diagnosis of central diabetes insipidus. Subcutaneous or oral administration of synthetic ADH was effective in central diabetes insipidus treatment during the 19-month follow-up.

Objective: To develop and validate a nomogram model for predicting central venous catheter-related infections (CRI) in patients with maintenance hemodialysis (MHD).
Methods: MHD patients with central venous catheters (CVCs) visiting the outpatient hemodialysis (HD) center of Xuzhou Medical University Affiliated Hospital from January 2020 to December 2023 were retrospectively selected through a HD monitoring system. Patient data were collected, and the patients were divided into training and validation sets in a 7:3 ratio.

Sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) are emerging as potential treatments for preventing the progression of chronic kidney disease to advanced stages, regardless of their anti-diabetic effects. Dapagliflozin, which has been approved by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization, is the SGLT2i drug class approved for use in both DKD and NDKD patients.
