Where tuberculous (TB) infection is prevalent, the diagnosis of TB otomastoiditis (TOM) should be considered in a chronically discharging ear that does not respond to standard medical treatment. We are reporting a case of TB otomastoiditis with an adjacent deep neck abscess in a healthy 18-year-old male. He presented with a five five-month history of right otorrhea with hearing loss and a concurrent right level two neck swelling, without any signs of acute infection.

Introduction: Bezold's abscess is a rare complication of chronic suppurative otitis media since the advent of antibiotics. Otitis media can also result from uncommon infections such as tuberculosis, with a diagnosis often delayed due to clinical symptoms that closely resemble other chronic middle ear conditions.
Case Report: We present a case of Bezold's abscess as a complication of primary tuberculous otitis media in a 21-year-old male who reported right-sided neck swelling for four days, accompanied by fever, difficulty opening his mouth, and a history of persistent purulent discharge in both ears for six months that did not respond to topical antibiotics.

Background: Mastoiditis frequently occurs in children as they are more susceptible to middle ear infections, but infrequently occurs in adults. A rare complication that results from mastoiditis and an obstructing cholesteatoma is a Bezold's abscess, of which there are less than 100 reported cases in literature to date.
Case Presentation: Here, we present a case of a 72-year-old Caucasian man who has had no history of prior ear infections and was found to have a cholesteatoma and advanced acute coalescent mastoiditis complicated by a Bezold's abscess.

Purpose: The goal of this manuscript was to review the biological and clinical evidence that serotonin neurotransmission might play an important role in the physiology and treatment of vasovagal syncope.
Methods: The authors reviewed PubMed and handsearches of secondary sources for papers related to the Bezold-Jarisch reflex and serotonin, the plausible involvement of the Bezold-Jarisch reflex in vasovagal syncope, and three lines of clinical evidence involving serotonin and the syncope.
Results: The Bezold-Jarisch reflex was first described following the infusion of veratrum alkaloids into animals in the 19th century.

Quaternary ammonium compounds have served as a first line of protection for human health as surface disinfectants and sanitizers for nearly a century. However, increasing levels of bacterial resistance have spurred the development of novel QAC architectures. In light of the observed reduction in eukaryotic cell toxicity when the alkyl chains on QACs are shorter in nature (≤10 C), we prepared 47 QAC architectures that bear multiple short alkyl chains appended to up to three cationic groups, thus rendering them "bushy-tailed" multiQACs.
