This is a report of a 24-year-old woman who presented to the emergency department (ED) at Imam Hossein Hospital in Tehran, Iran with a one-week history of headache and agitation following her father's death. Before presenting to our ED, a diagnosis of conversion reaction was suggested by three physicians in different outpatient clinics. Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) was confirmed in this case on the basis of brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance venography (MRV). In this report, current knowledge regarding cerebral venous thrombosis and its related clinical features are discussed.

Background: Hemorrhage is a major complication of brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) embolization, which can be related to persistent arteriovenous shunts that were not completely occluded during the embolization. In transvenous embolization (TVE) this risk is deemed higher for AVMs larger than 3 cm featuring multiple veins of drainage. Herein, we will discuss a few selected cases where brain AVMs with more than one draining vein were deemed safe for curative embolization with advanced endovascular techniques after a careful anatomical study through the four dimensional-digital subtraction angiography (4D-DSA) imaging.

Background: Dementia aggravates most cerebrovascular lesions, which requires differentiating the developed microcirculatory changes when making a diagnosis. We consider the features of cerebral microcirculation disorders in Alzheimer's disease (AD), distal cerebral atherosclerosis, Binswanger's disease (BD), and vascular parkinsonism (VP).
Method: The study included 1024 patients who underwent: assessment of CDR, TDR, MMSE, cerebral MRI, MRA, CT, MSCTA, scintigraphy (SG), rheoencephalography (REG), cerebral multi-gated angiography (MUGA).

Amyloid related imaging abnormalities (ARIA) are side effects of anti-Abeta immunotherapy, which are most frequent and associated with greater morbidity in ApoE4 individuals. ARIA are characterized by neurovascular inflammation, leading either to increased vascular permeability and edema (ARIA-E), or to more severe vascular damage and microhemorrhages (ARIA-H). The mechanisms by which Abeta immunotherapy leads to ARIA remain to be established but may involve overload of the cerebral microvasculature by Abeta released from amyloid plaques.
