Measles virus (MeV) is a highly contagious respiratory virus transmitted via aerosols. To understand how MeV exits the airways of an infected host, we use unpassaged primary cultures of human airway epithelial cells (HAE). MeV typically remains cell-associated in HAE and forms foci of infection, termed infectious centers, by directly spreading cell-to-cell.

The use of supervised machine learning to approximate poses in video recordings allows for rapid and efficient analysis of complex behavioral profiles. Currently, there are limited protocols for automated analysis of operant self-administration behavior. We provide methodology to 1) obtain videos of training sessions via Raspberry Pi microcomputers or GoPros 2) obtain pose estimation data using the supervised machine learning software packages DeepLabCut (DLC) and Simple Behavioral Analysis (SimBA) with local high performance computer cluster, 3) comparison of standard MedPC lever response vs quadrant time data generated from pose estimation regions of interest and 4) generation of predictive behavioral classifiers.

Background And Objectives: Since the initial description of related hemiplegic migraine (HM), the phenotypic spectrum has expanded from mild episodes in neurotypical individuals to potentially life-threatening events frequently seen in individuals with developmental and epileptic encephalopathies. However, the overall longitudinal course throughout childhood remains unknown.
Methods: We analyzed HM and seizure history from electronic medical records in individuals with -related HM, delineating frequency and severity of events in monthly increments through a standardized approach.

Discriminatory experiences involving bias may contribute to difficulties in the retention and advancement of Latinas in medicine. Oncolytic herpes simplex viruses (oHSV) preferentially replicate in cancer cells while inducing antitumor immunity, and thus, they are often referred to as in situ cancer vaccines. OHSV infection of tumors elicits diverse host immune responses comprising both innate and adaptive components. Although the innate/adaptive immune responses primarily target the tumor, they also contribute to antiviral immunity, limiting viral replication/oncolysis.
