Context: This study aimed to investigate the characteristics, diagnosis, and management of tuberculous longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis (TB-LETM), a rare manifestation of tuberculosis.
Findings: We analyzed two rare cases of TB-LETM and discussed their clinical manifestations and imaging findings in the context of the relevant literature. Patient 1, a 23-year-old female, presented with quadriplegia and dysuria, and spinal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed lesions extending from C1 to T3.

Tuberculous meningitis (TBM) has considerable mortality and morbidity, and it often presents therapeutic challenges when complicated by paradoxical reactions (PRs). Here, the clinical course of four cases of TBM patients complicated by PRs in a longitudinal TB cohort is described while also providing insights from the larger clinical cohort. Research flow cytometry, biomarker analysis, and drug concentrations were performed on available samples.

Introduction High body mass index (BMI) often causes immobility and functional impairment before arthroplasty. Patients expect weight loss post-surgery due to increased mobility, but paradoxically, studies show that weight may not decrease and might even increase postoperatively. This study aims to evaluate if patients lose weight after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and total hip arthroplasty (THA) and to examine the impact of BMI change on functional scores.
