Na(x) is a sodium-level sensor for body fluids expressed in the circumventricular organs in the brain. Na(x) has a putative PSD-95/Disc-large/ZO-1 (PDZ)-binding motif at the carboxyl (C)-terminus. Here we found that several PDZ proteins bind to Na(x) by PDZ-array overlay assay. Among them, synapse-associated protein 97 (SAP97/DLG1) was coexpressed with Na(x) in the subfornical organ. In C6 glioblastoma cells, destruction of the PDZ-binding motif of Na(x) or depletion of SAP97 resulted in a decrease in cell-surface Na(x), which was attenuated with inhibitors of endocytosis. These results indicate that SAP97 contributes to the stabilization of Na(x) channels at the plasma membrane.

Alkaline fusion is a pivotal process influencing the cost of synthesizing zeolite from coal gangue. This study examined the effects of alkaline fusion temperature ( ), treatment duration ( ) and the NaOH/coal gangue weight ratio ( ) on the composition and properties of the products, as well as their adsorption capacities for Cd ( ) and Pb ( ). Response surface methodology (RSM) was employed to analyze the interactions among these factors, and the adsorption mechanisms for Cd and Pb were investigated using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy-EDS, Fourier transform infrared, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and N adsorption-desorption techniques.

Blue energy, a clean energy source derived from salinity gradients, has recently drawn increased research attention. It can be harvested using charged membranes, typically composed of amorphous materials that suffer from low power density due to their disordered structure and low charge density. Crystalline materials, with inherently ordered porous structures, offer a promising alternative for overcoming these limitations.

In this study, the separation of short-chain alkane/alkene pairs by fixed-bed adsorption on zeolite NaX at low temperatures is investigated. Experiments are carried out with pure components and mixtures of ethane/ethene, propane/propene, and -butane/1-butene in the temperature range between -75 and +40 °C and partial pressures up to 450 Pa. For a short chain length, much stronger adsorption of the alkene is observed.
