COLLATOR: Consistent spatial-temporal longitudinal atlas construction via implicit neural representation.

Med Image Anal

February 2025

School of Biomedical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai 200240, China; National Engineering Research Center of Advanced Magnetic Resonance Technologies for Diagnosis and Therapy (NERC-AMRT), Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, 200240, China. Electronic address:

Longitudinal brain atlases that present brain development trend along time, are essential tools for brain development studies. However, conventional methods construct these atlases by independently averaging brain images from different individuals at discrete time points. This approach could introduce temporal inconsistencies due to variations in ontogenetic trends among samples, potentially affecting accuracy of brain developmental characteristic analysis.

This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluates the potential of four-dimensional flow magnetic resonance imaging (4DFM) in assessing aortic stenosis (AS) compared to traditional imaging modalities like two-dimensional phase contrast MRI (2D MRI) and transthoracic echocardiography (TTE). AS is a common and severe valvular heart disease, particularly in older adults, requiring accurate diagnosis for proper clinical management. Conventional imaging methods have limitations in capturing complex flow dynamics, prompting the need for advanced modalities like 4DFM.

Development of a Porcine Model of Arteriovenous Fistula Venous Stenosis Treated with Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty.

J Vasc Interv Radiol

October 2024

Vascular and Interventional Radiology Translational Research Lab, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota; Department of Radiology, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. Electronic address:

Purpose: To develop a porcine model for arteriovenous fistula (AVF) venous stenosis (VS) treated with percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA), and to compare outcomes of plain ordinary balloon angioplasty (POBA) to paclitaxel drug-coated balloon (DCB) angioplasty.

Materials And Methods: Twelve castrated male Yorkshire pigs (4-5 months, 35-45 kg) underwent renal artery embolization to induce chronic kidney disease (CKD). Twenty-eight days later, AVF was created by anastomosing the left external jugular vein to left common carotid artery.

Cardiac MRI in Rheumatic Disease.

Rheum Dis Clin North Am

November 2024

Heart and Vascular Center, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Medicine, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA. Electronic address:

Immune-mediated systemic inflammatory disorders present a latent threat for cardiovascular disease. Early involvement may be associated with constitutional symptoms, while clinical evidence of disease may manifest later in an insidious manner. Multimodality imaging is crucial to detect myocardial involvement, with transthoracic echocardiogram as a first-line imaging modality; however, cardiac MRI (CMRI) has the potential to significantly impact our diagnostic and therapeutic approaches through high-fidelity chamber quantification and parametric mapping techniques.
