Ecosystem functioning and management are primarily concerned with addressing climate change and biodiversity loss, which are closely linked to carbon stock and species diversity. This research aimed to quantify forest understory (shrub and herb) diversity, tree biomass and carbon sequestration in the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. Using random sampling methods, data were gathered from six distinct forest communities.

Background And Objectives: The preschool context produces excessive sedentary behavior in children. The systematic fulfillment of structured physical activities during school time, namely a daily movement routine (DMR), can contribute to increasing the quantity of physical activity (PA) and to improving physical literacy (PL), reaching the WHO's recommendations.

Aim: The present study aims to quantify the sedentary time spent by 4- and 5-year-old preschool children and to verify the effects that a DMR could have on sedentary habits in preschool children.

Cell-matrix interactions, mediated by cellular force and matrix remodeling, result in dynamic reciprocity that drives numerous biological processes and disease progression. Currently, there is no available method for directly quantifying cell traction force and matrix remodeling in three-dimensional matrices as a function of time. To address this long-standing need, we developed a high-resolution microfabricated device that enables longitudinal measurement of cell force, matrix stiffness and the application of mechanical stimulation (tension or compression) to cells.

The relevance of posture as a constituent of physical health varies depending on one's explanatory framework of disease. Contrasting perspectives within this discussion refer to optimal biomechanics, but often without consistent meaning. The resulting theoretical confusion presents challenges both for applied research and clinical practice.

Objective: What we hear may influence postural control, particularly in people with vestibular hypofunction. Would hearing a moving subway destabilize people similarly to seeing the train move? We investigated how people with unilateral vestibular hypofunction and healthy controls incorporated broadband and real-recorded sounds with visual load for balance in an immersive contextual scene.

Design: Participants stood on foam placed on a force-platform, wore the HTC Vive headset, and observed an immersive subway environment.
