The mechanism of magnetization reversal has been studied in a model system of self-assembled cobalt nanowires with a 3 nm diameter. The structure, orientation and size of grains within the nanowires could be determined by high resolution transmission electron microscopy. The magnetic properties were probed using static and dynamic magnetization measurements. Micromagnetic modeling based on the structural analysis allows us to correlate the structure and the magnetic behavior of the wires, revealing competition between shape anisotropy, magnetocrystalline anisotropy and exchange in the localized reversal within Co hcp oriented grains. These results provide direct experimental evidence of the link between anisotropy fluctuations and reversal localization in nanowires.

The efficient harvesting of triplet excitons is key to realizing high efficiency blue fluorescent organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Triplet-triplet annihilation (TTA) up-conversion is one of the effective triplet-harvesting strategies. However, during the TTA up-conversion process, a high current density is necessary due to the competitive non-radiative triplet losses.

Aims: To assess the reproducibility of 4D-Flow cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) parameters in the descending thoracic aorta-DTAo-(regurgitant fraction [RF], end-diastolic reverse flow [EDRF], and holodiastolic flow reversal [HDR]), and the relationship with RF in the sinotubular junction (STJ), and the left ventricular end-diastolic volume index (LVEDVI) in patients with chronic aortic regurgitation (AR).
Methods And Results: A descriptive study of these variables was conducted. A receiver operating characteristic curve was used to determine the optimal cut-off point.

The construction of multilevel magnetic states using materials with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) offers a novel approach to enhancing the storage density and read/write efficiency of nonvolatile magnetic memory devices. In this study, optically readable multilevel magnetic domain states are achieved by inducing asymmetric interlayer interactions and decoupling the magnetic reversal behavior of individual ferromagnetic (FM) layers in exchange-biased FM multilayers with PMA. Hepta-level magnetic domain states are formed in [Co/Pt] FM multilayers grown on an antiferromagnetic FeO layer within a relatively low magnetic field range of ∼±400 Oe.

A new compound [Y(sq)(HO)] (Y-sq; sq = squarate (CO)) was prepared and structurally characterized. Since the RE-sq family (RE = Y, Dy, Yb, Lu) gave isostructural crystals, the objective of this study is to explore the effects of diamagnetic dilution on the SIM behavior through systematic investigation and comparison of diamagnetically diluted and undiluted forms. The 1%-Diluted Dy compounds, Dy@Y-sq and Dy@Lu-sq, showed AC magnetic susceptibility peaks without any DC bias field (), whereas undiluted Dy-sq showed no AC out-of-phase response under the same conditions.
