Aim: The prevalence of asthma, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (AR) and eczema among children has increased worldwide in the last four decades, but recent studies disagree as to whether the prevalence is continuing to rise or is levelling off or declining. The aim of this study was to assess time trends in a subarctic population.
Methods: A cross-sectional, questionnaire-based survey was carried out in 2008 among children aged 7-14 years in randomly selected schools in Nordland County, Norway (n = 4150). The results are compared with results from identical studies in 1985 (n = 4870) and 1995 (n = 4456).
Results: The main findings were an increasing prevalence of asthma ever (7.3% in 1985 to 17.6% in 2008, p for trend < 0.001) and AR ever (15.9% in 1985 to 24.5% in 2008, p for trend < 0.001), while the prevalence of eczema ever, after an increase between 1985 and 1995, remained unchanged in the last time period. The prevalence of current disease doubled and trebled between 1995 and 2008 for all three diseases.
Conclusion: A repeated cross-sectional survey between 1985 and 2008 documented an increasing prevalence of asthma ever and AR ever among schoolchildren (7-14 years), together with a considerably increase in current asthma, AR and eczema between 1995 and 2008.

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) was first described in the early 1990s. Initially a rarity, it is now the most common cause of dysphagia for solid foods in young adults. Its prevalence is estimated to be 1:2000.

Introduction: In response to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in March 2020 and required adherence to infection control measures and patient and staff safety, an integrated respiratory team (IRT) developed guideline-based templates to support the team in teleconsultation reviews of their patients. Patients had been diagnosed with sleep disordered breathing, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, interstitial lung disease or had oxygen assessment needs.
Methods: Nine IRT members collaboratively developed content for the templates to assist in clinical reviews.

Drug-induced eosinophilic pneumonia (EP) is an uncommon adverse drug reaction. Many drugs have been reported to cause EP, the evidence mainly being in the form of case reports/case series. This study aims to conduct an exploratory analysis of the United States Food and Drug Administration adverse event reporting system (FAERS) database to identify previously unknown drugs that can cause EP and supplement the available evidence for known culprit drugs.

Background: Biologics can induce remission in some patients with severe asthma, however, little is known about pre-biologic disease trajectories and their association with outcomes from biological treatment. We aimed to identify long-term trajectories of disease progression in patients initiating biologics and investigate trajectory associations with disease burden and impact on biologic therapy efficacy.
Methods: Patients in the Danish Severe Asthma Registry initiating biologic therapy between 2016-2022 were included and followed retrospectively in prescription databases starting 1995.
