Objective: to study the dynamics of the haemostatic system, depending on coagulopathy type and efferent therapy method (HDF, MARS) in patiens with acute renal-hepatic failure. As a complex of intensive therapy, all the patients were trated extracorporeal techniques: HDF therapy in group I (n = 121) and MARS in group 1 (n = 62). Patients were aged from 18 to 67 years.

Results And Discussion: MARS - is an effective therapy and has effects on haemostasis system: observed recovery of platelet-vascular disorders of coagulation and haemostasis. HDF is effective in patients with coagulation type of laboratory disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), and was dangerous in fibrinolytic DIC type because of haemostasis status decompensation risk.

Purpose: Myasthenia-gravis and Guillain-Barre-syndrome are two of the most common causes of acute and reversible neuromuscular-respiratory-failure(ARNRF), both may worsen respiratory-failure and need for invasive-mechanical-ventilation(IMV) for long-periods due to muscle-weakness. However, approitive IMV-mode for ARNRF patients that better gas-exchange and weaning in ARNRF remain unclear.

Materials And Methods: Critically-ill-patiens with IMV due to ARNRF, who could meet the weaning-criterias (after intubation for more than 7-days; difficult-weaning), between 2013, and 2023 were included in the study.

Insights into Hemodynamic Features of Survivors and the Deceased with Acute Brain Injury: A Step Forward Tailored Treatment.

J Clin Med

Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, School of Medicine in Katowice, Medical University of Silesia, Medyków 14, 40-752 Katowice, Poland.

Background: Pulmonary artery catheters are widely used for hemodynamical monitoring in critically ill patients. Acute brain injury is among the severe conditions treated in an intensive care unit. The advanced monitoring of hemodynamical parameters, fluid balance and adequate administered treatment based on those values are components of goal-directed therapy.

Introduction: The incidence of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) might not be decreasing as much among young adults as in the general population in recent years. The goal of our study was to explore incidence, risk factors and prognosis of AMI among young patients in Iceland.

Material And Methods: This was a retrospective case control study.

Among patients with pulmonary embolism (PE), various permutations of normal or abnormal cardiac troponin results and normal or abnormal echocardiographic right ventricular function are encountered in clinical practice. We aimed to explore whether there is a true gradient of risk based on troponin and echocardiographic results. This study included normotensive patients with PE from the PROgnosTic valuE of CT scan in hemodynamically stable patients with acute symptomatic pulmonary embolism (PROTECT) study.
