The case of a 59-year-old Caucasian man who presented with a 6-week history of intermittent blurring of vision and diplopia is reported. Fundoscopy revealed asymmetrical, bilateral optic disc swelling with peripapillary haemorrhages. An initial CT scan and D-dimer level were reported as normal. A subsequent MRI revealed a recanalising superior sagittal sinus thrombosis. Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis is a rare and potentially fatal condition. The author suggests that it should be part of the differential diagnosis of bilateral optic disc swelling and that a normal unenhanced CT scan and D-dimer would not rule out this potentially devastating condition.

Background: Emergence agitation (EA) occurs in preschool children after ophthalmic surgery as eye shields induce visual disturbance. We aimed to investigate the efficacy of light-transmitting eye shields as an alternative to traditional medical gauze eye shields for wound dressing in terms of EA incidence following strabismus surgery.
Methods: We randomly assigned 70 preschool children undergoing bilateral strabismus surgery to receive either light-transmitting (LT group, n = 35) or medical gauze (MG group, n = 35) eye shields upon the completion of surgery.

Purpose: To report an exceptionally rare instance of Endoscopic endonasal dacryocystectomy.
Observations: Dacryocystectomy (DCT), a procedure of surgical extirpation of the lacrimal sac is normally approached by an external route. However, an endoscopic endonasal approach DCT is rare and usually reserved in cases where intellectual disabilities of a patient become a restrictive factor in maintenance of a healthy external wound.

Purpose: We present a case of Kikuchi-Fujimoto Disease (KFD) associated with bilateral optic neuropathy progressing to vision loss.
Observations: A 17-year-old male was referred for bilateral optic nerve pallor. Eight years prior, he was diagnosed with KFD after workup for lymphadenopathy and treated with prednisolone acutely followed by long-term Plaquenil.
