Multireference partial field decomposition (PFD) can be used to generate coherent holograms for near-field acoustical holography measurements. PFD is most successful when the reference array completely senses all independent subsources, but meeting this requirement is not straightforward when the number of subsources and their locations are ambiguous (such as in aeroacoustic sources). A figure of merit based on spatial coherence lengths, called references per coherence length (RPL(C)), is a useful metric to guide inter-reference spacing in the array design. For numerical, extended, arbitrarily coherent sources one reference per coherence length results in a sufficient reference array.

The coherent spin waves, magnons, can propagate without accompanying charge transports and Joule heat dissipation. Room-temperature and long-distance spin waves propagating within nanoscale spin channels are considered promising for integrated magnonic applications, but experimentally challenging. Here we report that long-distance propagation of chiral magnonic edge states can be achieved at room temperature in manganite thin films with long, antiferromagnetically coupled spin spirals (millimetre length) and low magnetic Gilbert damping (~3.

OCCUPATIONAL APPLICATIONSResults from our exploratory study of restaurant worker mental models of injury and safety emphasize the need for improved occupational safety in the culinary industry through targeted interventions for chefs and managers. The analysis we performed showed that managers possess more integrated and coherent mental models of injury and safety than chefs, reflected in network parameters showing better organization of safety concepts. Kitchen training programs should focus on bridging gaps in safety awareness and mitigating hazards such as burns, cuts, slips, and equipment-related risks.

Perivascular Chorioretinal Atrophy: an Unusual Feature in Pathologic Myopia Eyes.

Am J Ophthalmol

December 2024

Department of Ophthalmology, New Civil Hospital, Strasbourg University Hospital, FMTS, Strasbourg, France. Electronic address:

Purpose: To describe a new feature in pathologic myopia: perivascular patchy chorioretinal atrophy (PVCA) DESIGN: Cross-sectional study METHODS: 604 eyes of 312 highly myopic patients followed at Strasbourg University Hospitals were reviewed for the presence of PVCA lesions. Demographic, clinical, and paraclinical data (ultra-widefield retinography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography images) were analyzed. Controls were matched for age, sex, and axial length (AL).

Spatiotemporal Spectroscopy of Fast Excited-State Diffusion in 2D Covalent Organic Framework Thin Films.

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs), crystalline and porous conjugated structures, are of great interest for sustainable energy applications. Organic building blocks in COFs with suitable electronic properties can feature strong optical absorption, whereas the extended crystalline network can establish a band structure enabling long-range coherent transport. This peculiar combination of both molecular and solid-state materials properties makes COFs an interesting platform to study and ultimately utilize photoexcited charge carrier diffusion.
