Objective: Our aim was to report diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) patterns in three patients, each with a different primary progressive aphasia (PPA) variant.
Design: One agrammatic PPA, one semantic PPA, and one logopenic PPA subject underwent a magnetic resonance imaging examination including DTI sequences. The fractional anisotropy (FA) value was calculated in regions of interest (ROIs) involved in these three variants (perisylvian region, temporal pole, and parietotemporal junction) for each patient. Left-right FA ratios in each ROI were compared between PPA subjects and a group of three amnestic mild cognitive impairment patients with a cerebrospinal fluid biomarker profile of the Alzheimer type.
Results: The FA values were lower in the left hemisphere (p=0.03). The lowest FA values were observed in the left perisylvian region for the non-fluent/agrammatic subtype PPA patient, in the left anterior temporal lobe for the semantic subtype PPA patient, and in the left parietotemporal junction for the logopenic patient (p=0.028). The left-right FA ratio in these specific ROIs for each PPA variant was significantly lower than in the amnestic mild cognitive impairment group (p=0.009).
Conclusion: DTI patterns could be an effective new tool for diagnosing PPA and classifying the three variants.

Background/aim: Autosomal-recessive carnitine-acylcarnitine translocase deficiency (CACTD) is a rare disorder of long-chain fatty acid oxidation caused by variants in the SLC25A20 gene. Under fasting conditions, most newborns with severe CACTD experience sudden cardiac arrest and hypotonia, often leading to premature death due to rapid disease progression. Understanding of genetic factors and pathogenic mechanisms in CACTD is essential for its diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.

Background And Aims: Pancreas divisum (PD) is the most common developmental anatomic variant of pancreatic duct. The published data on the accuracy of the detection of pancreas divisum by linear-array endoscopic ultrasound (L-EUS) is limited. The current study aimed to assess the diagnostic accuracy of L-EUS compared with magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) for identifying PD.

Objectives: Biallelic HPDL variants have been identified as the cause of a progressive childhood-onset movement disorder, with a broad clinical spectrum from severe neurodevelopmental disorder to juvenile-onset pure hereditary spastic paraplegia type 83. This study aims at delineating the geno- and phenotypic spectra of patients with HPDL-related disease, quantitatively modelling the natural history, and uncovering genotype-phenotype associations.
Methods: A cross-sectional analysis of 90 published and one novel case was performed, employing a Human Phenotype Ontology-based approach.
Background and Objective: Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in Indonesia, where traditional herbal treatments like Zanthoxylum acanthopodium (andaliman) are culturally used. Investigating protein biomarkers such as E7, pRb, EGFR and p16 can help assess the efficacy of these treatments. Materials and Methods: There were 5 groups in this study: 2 control groups (C- and C+) and 3 treatment groups (each receiving one of three doses).

Potato vigour, the growth potential of seed potatoes, is a key agronomic trait that varies significantly across production fields due to factors such as genetic background and environmental conditions. Seed tuber microbiomes are thought to influence plant health and crop performance, yet the precise relationships between microbiome composition and potato vigour remain unclear. Here we conducted microbiome sequencing on seed tuber eyes and heel ends from 6 potato varieties grown in 240 fields.
