We report the case of a 16-year-old girl with a history of idiopathic precocious puberty and normal results on pituitary imaging scan. Ten years later, a new cranial magnetic resonance imaging scan was performed due to worsening of episodes resembling Horton's headache and a lesion suggestive of pituitary bleeding was detected. The headaches diminished with glucocorticoid administration but a severe complication, steroid psychosis, occurred. Surgical treatment and pathological study of the lesion led to the differential diagnosis between craniopharyngyoma and xanthogranuloma of the sella turcica. The clinical progression of the tumor (not visualized 10 years previously), together with preservation of pituitary and visual function both before and after surgery, gross total removal of the tumor (difficult to achieve with craniopharyngioma) and the absence of recurrence provide strong support for the diagnosis of xanthogranuloma of the sella turcica.

Rib pathology is uniquely difficult and time-consuming for radiologists to diagnose. AI can reduce radiologist workload and serve as a tool to improve accurate diagnosis. To date, no reviews have been performed synthesizing identification of rib fracture data on AI and its diagnostic performance on X-ray and CT scans of rib fractures and its comparison to physicians.

Objectives: In advanced stages of osteoradionecrosis, medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw, and osteomyelitis, a resection of sections of the mandible may be unavoidable. The determination of adequate bony resection margins is a fundamental problem because bony resection margins cannot be secured intraoperatively. Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT-CT) is more accurate than conventional imaging techniques in detecting inflammatory jaw pathologies.

A young man in his 30s presented to us with multiple episodes of syncope and exertional dyspnoea for the last 2 weeks. He was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the lower one-third of the oesophagus in 2021 for which he was treated with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy, followed by McKeown oesophagectomy. At 2-year follow-up, he had developed a soft tissue swelling in the scalp, which was diagnosed as a tumour recurrence and radiotherapy was initiated.

Purpose: To investigate the prognostic value of post-chemoradiotherapy 2-[F]FDG PET/CT in locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (LANPC) and develop an accurate prognostic model based on the 2-[F]FDG PET/CT results.
Methods: 900 LANPC patients who underwent pretreatment and post-chemoradiotherapy 2-[F]FDG PET/CT from May 2014 to August 2022 were included in the study. We divided the patients into two distinct cohorts for the purpose of our study: a training cohort comprising 506 individuals, included from May 2008 to April 2020, and a validation cohort consisting of 394 individuals, included from May 2020 to August 2022.

Bone is a common site for the metastasis of malignant tumors, and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) is widely used to detect these metastases. Accurate delineation of metastatic bone lesions in SPECT images is essential for developing treatment plans. However, current clinical practices rely on manual delineation by physicians, which is prone to variability and subjective interpretation.
