Objective: To study the biological exposure index of carbon disulfide in China.
Methods: High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to detect the levels of 2-thiothiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid (TTCA) in the urine of the workers after working shift end, Gas chromatography was used to detect the concentrations of the carbon disulfide in the workplace air. The relationship between the urine TTCA levels and the concentrations of the carbon disulfide was analyzed, the biological exposure index and judgement result from PC-TWA were compared.
Results: The levels of TTCA in urine of workers occupationally exposed to carbon disulfide were closely and positively related with the concentrations of the carbon disulfide in the workplace air. The regression equation was Y = 0.265X - 0.165, The biological exposure index of carbon disulfide were calculated by regression equation according to occupational exposure limits of carbon disulfide in China.
Conclusion: The biological exposure index of CS(2) in China might be revised for 1.2 mg/g Cr.

The rational design of multicomponent heterostructure is an effective strategy to enhance the catalytic activity of electrocatalysts for water and seawater electrolysis in alkaline conditions. Herein, MOF-derived nitrogen-doped carbon/nickel-cobalt sulfides coupled vertically aligned Rhenium disulfide (ReS) on carbon cloth (NC-CoNiS@ReS/CC) are constructed via hydrothermal and activation approaches. Experimental and theoretical analysis demonstrates that the strong interactions between multiple interfaces promote electron redistribution and facilitate water dissociation, thereby optimizing *H adsorption energy for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER).

Natural building blocks like chitins for self-assembling into complex materials have garnered significant interest owing to the inherent and diverse functionalities. However, challenges persist in the assembly of chitin-based composites, primarily stemming from chitin's poor solubility and compatibility. Herein, a quercetin-mediated multiple crosslinking strategy was developed to enhance compatibility by quercetin-mediated interfacial interactions between chitin and inorganic materials, achieving a series of chitin-based composite hydrogels with high performances.

Anaerobic co-digestion is emerging as an option for wastewater biosolids management. Variations in treatment parameters can impact odour emissions and, in turn, odour nuisance reduces community acceptance and alternatives for beneficial reuse of biosolids via land application. This study assessed odour emissions from digested sludge and biosolids resulting from the anaerobic co-digestion of wastewater sludge with beverage rejects (beer and cola) and food wastes.

The increasing demand for high-performance strain sensors has driven the development of innovative composite systems. This study focused on enhancing the performance of composites by integrating liquid metal, carbon nanotubes, and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) in an innovative approach that involved advanced interface engineering, filler synergy, and in situ cross-linking of PDMS in solution. Surface modification of liquid metal with allyl disulfide and hydrogen-containing polydimethylsiloxane significantly improved its stability and dispersion within the polymer matrix.

Janus transition metal disulfide (TMD) monolayers have two distinct carbon surfaces that break the inherent ground external mirror symmetry. When compared to traditional TMD materials, Janus TMDs not only inherit the advantages of traditional TMDs but also have new characteristics that are different from those of traditional TMDs. This paper describes the development of a stable passive Q-switched ytterbium-doped fiber laser (YDFL) with operating wavelengths of 1032.
