The effect of volatile oils of lavender, monarda, and basil on the course of experimental atherosclerosis was studied in rabbit experiments. Inhalation of the volatile fractions of essential++ oils of lavender and monarda in a concentration of 0.1-0.2 mg/m3 of air has no effect on the content of cholesterol in the blood, but reduces its content in the aorta and reduces affection of the aorta by the atherosclerotic plaques, i.e. these oils produce an angioprotective effect.
