Analysis of resting state fMRI (rs-fMRI) typically excludes images substantially degraded by subject motion. However, data quality, including degree of motion, relates to a broad set of participant characteristics, particularly in pediatric neuroimaging. Consequently, when planning quality control (QC) procedures researchers must balance data quality concerns against the possibility of biasing results by eliminating data.

Aims: The primary aim of this study is to compare mobility status of patients receiving oral oxycodone with those receiving subcutaneous alfentanil as analgesic methods prior to mobilization to help physiotherapy compliance after hip fracture surgery. The secondary aims are to assess postoperative pain, health-related quality of life, in-hospital length of stay, total use of analgesia over postoperative days 1 and 2 (POD 1 and POD 2), complication rates within 30 days, and 30-day mortality rates.
Methods: A single-centre, prospective cohort study of 64 patients will be undertaken.

Background: The identification of the key factors that affect academic success in nursing students, including health-related quality of life, academic burnout, and academic motivation, has been of the utmost importance to date. In this context, the present study sought to examine the relationship between health-related quality of life and academic success, with academic burnout and academic motivation mediating that relationship.
Methods: This analytical cross-sectional study included 262 eligible nursing students selected through convenience sampling from the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran.

Background: The location of proposed brain MRI markers of small vessel disease (SVD) might reflect their pathogenesis and may translate into differential associations with cognition. We derived regional MRI markers of SVD and studied: (i) associations with cognitive performance, (ii) patterns most likely to reflect underlying SVD, (iii) mediating effects on the relationships of age and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk with cognition.
Method: In 891 participants from The Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis, we segmented enlarged perivascular spaces (ePVS), white matter hyperintensities (WMH) and microbleeds (MBs) using deep learning-based algorithms, and calculated white matter (WM) microstructural integrity measures of fractional anisotropy (FA), trace (TR) and free water (FW) using automated DTI-processing pipelines.
