A double-ternary combinatorial chemistry (combi-chem) library was visualized in terms of structure, PL intensity, and color chromaticity for a nitride phosphor system, ARSi4N7:Eu(2+) (A = Sr, Ca, Ba; R = Y, La, Lu), so as to obtain a quantitative structure and property relationship (QSPR) in a systematic manner. Most of the samples constituting the double-ternary combi-chem library turned out to have ARSi4N7 structures with a P63mc space group. However, several phases such as Ca2Si5N8 with a Cc space group, LaSi3N5 with a P212121 space group, R6Si11N20O with a P31c space group, etc., coexisted. Aside from the green luminescence from the well-known SrYSi4N7:Eu(2+) and BaYSi4N7:Eu(2+) phosphors, their solid solutions (Sr,Ba)Si4N7:Eu(2+) proved to possess better PL properties. In addition, novel phosphors with an acceptable green PL intensity and color chromaticity were discovered in the ALuSi4N7:Eu(2+) side of the double-ternary combi-chem library. The Ca-rich side did not constitute a single-phase ARSi4N7 structure with a P63mc space group, and therefore the red emission in the Ca-rich side proved to originate from well-known Ca2Si5N8:Eu(2+) phosphors, which resided in the sample as a minor phase.

Evaporation or freezing of water-rich fluids with dilute concentrations of dissolved salts can produce brines, as observed in closed basins on Earth and detected by remote sensing on icy bodies in the outer Solar System. The mineralogical evolution of these brines is well understood in regard to terrestrial environments, but poorly constrained for extraterrestrial systems owing to a lack of direct sampling. Here we report the occurrence of salt minerals in samples of the asteroid (101955) Bennu returned by the OSIRIS-REx mission.

Early detection of cognitive dysfunction in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is important for preventive measures due to the lack of effective treatments. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between enlarged perivascular space in the hippocampus (H-EPVS) and cognitive performance in patients with T2DM, and to determine whether it can serve as an imaging marker for cognitive dysfunction. 66 T2DM patients with cognitive impairment (T2DM-CI) and 71 T2DM patients with normal cognitive function (T2DM-NC) underwent cranial MRI scans and comprehensive neuropsychological assessments.

Collective behavior in biological systems emerges from local interactions among individuals, enabling groups to adapt to dynamic environments. Traditional modeling approaches, such as bottom-up and top-down models, have limitations in accurately representing these complex interactions. We propose a novel potential field mechanism that integrates local interactions and environmental influences to explain collective behavior.

Purpose: In totally endoscopic off-pump left atrial appendage (LAA) closure and surgical ablation, securing the operative field is sometimes difficult in some patients because of a narrow working space caused by an elevated diaphragm or ventricles. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a method that facilitates securing the operative field using an artificial pneumothorax.
Methods: We analyzed 71 consecutive patients who underwent totally endoscopic off-pump LAA closure and bilateral pulmonary vein isolation.

Low accessibility to mainstream psychosocial services disadvantages culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) populations, resulting in delayed care and high rates of unsupported psychological distress. Non-clinical interventions may play an important role in improving accessibility to psychosocial support, but what characterises best practice in this space remains unclear. This critical rapid review addressed this gap by searching for, and critically analysing, existing research on non-clinical psychosocial support services, drawing from a critical realist framework and Brossard and Chandler's (Brossard and Chandler, Explaining mental illness: Sociological perspectives, Bristol University Press, 2022) taxonomy of positions on culture and mental health.
