A data processing approach is proposed for reducing the t(1) noise observed in multidimensional NMR spectra. This method is based on the use of the Cadzow procedure [Cadzow, J.A. (1988) IEEE Trans. Acous. Speech Signal Proc., 36, 49-62], and is demonstrated to be efficient for simulated cases as well as real experiments.

Objectives: The minor allele of the common rs2231142 ABCG2 variant predicts inadequate response to allopurinol urate lowering therapy. We hypothesize that additional variants in genes encoding urate transporters and allopurinol-to-oxypurinol metabolic enzymes also predict allopurinol response.
Methods: This study included a subset of participants with gout from the Long-term Allopurinol Safety Study Evaluating Outcomes in Gout Patients (LASSO), whose whole genome was sequenced (n = 563).

Lay caregivers provide essential support to patients throughout the kidney transplant process, pretransplant through discharge. Sparse data exists about kidney transplant caregiver experience and facilitators of caregiver engagement. The aim of this study was to explore and describe lay caregivers' accounts of supporting a patient before and early after kidney transplantation.

Methods: LENS is a streamlined randomised double-masked placebo-controlled trial, based in Scotland, assessing whether treatment with fenofibrate (145 mg tablet daily or, in the context of impaired renal function, on alternate days) in people with early retinopathy reduces progression to referable diabetic retinopathy (defined in NHS Scotland's Diabetic Eye Screening grading scheme as referable background or proliferative retinopathy, or referable maculopathy in either eye) or treatment with retinal laser, intravitreal injections or vitrectomy.

BACKGROUND Fear of kidney transplant complications and incomplete information can lower transplant acceptance and preparedness. Our group developed 2 patient-centered educational animated videos on common kidney transplant complications to complement a previously developed video-based curriculum intended to promote kidney transplant access. MATERIAL AND METHODS We preliminarily evaluated the 2 animated educational videos at a single center using mixed methods.

Aims: Monogenic diabetes accounts for 1-2% of diabetes cases yet is often misdiagnosed as type 2 diabetes. The aim of this study was to examine in Māori and Pacific adults clinically diagnosed with type 2 diabetes within 40 years of age, (a) the prevalence of monogenic diabetes in this population (b) the prevalence of beta-cell autoantibodies and (c) the pre-test probability of monogenic diabetes.
Methods: Targeted sequencing data of 38 known monogenic diabetes genes was analyzed in 199 Māori and Pacific peoples with BMI of 37.
