MicroRNA analysis reveals two modules that antagonistically regulate xylem tracheary element development in Arabidopsis.

Plant Cell

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Protein and Plant Gene Research, School of Life Sciences, Peking University, Beijing 100871, China.

Tracheary elements (TEs) are vital in the transport of various substances and contribute to plant growth. The differentiation of TEs is complex and regulated by a variety of microRNAs (miRNAs). However, the dynamic changes in miRNAs during each stage of TE differentiation remain unclear, and the miRNA regulatory network is not yet complete.

Nanoscale Titanium Oxide Memristive Structures for Neuromorphic Applications: Atomic Force Anodization Techniques, Modeling, Chemical Composition, and Resistive Switching Properties.

Nanomaterials (Basel)

January 2025

Research Laboratory Neuroelectronics and Memristive Nanomaterials (NEUROMENA Lab), Institute of Nanotechnologies, Electronics and Electronic Equipment Engineering, Southern Federal University, Taganrog 347922, Russia.

This paper presents the results of a study on the formation of nanostructures of electrochemical titanium oxide for neuromorphic applications. Three anodization synthesis techniques were considered to allow the formation of structures with different sizes and productivity: nanodot, lateral, and imprint. The mathematical model allowed us to calculate the processes of oxygen ion transfer to the reaction zone; the growth of the nanostructure due to the oxidation of the titanium film; and the formation of TiO, TiO, and TiO oxides in the volume of the growing nanostructure and the redistribution of oxygen vacancies and conduction channel.

The Family Doctor in the "COVID-19 Era".

Healthcare (Basel)

December 2024

Internal Medicine I-Discipline of Medical Semiology I, Department V, Center of Advanced Research in Cardiology and Hemostasology, "Victor Babeș" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Eftimie Murgu Sq. No. 2, 300041 Timisoara, Romania.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, the most severe pandemic in recent human history, found healthcare systems around the world more or less unprepared. Adjusting to this challenge involved changes in the daily routines of healthcare systems, as well as the patients, once again highlighting the importance of primary care (family physician or general practitioner). In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the family doctor in Romania played a crucial role in patient management, rapidly adapting to the changes and challenges imposed by the state of emergency.

The progress of Ethiopia's agriculture is constrained by climate change leaving smallholder farmers vulnerable. As a panacea to the challenge, development institutions, governments, and research organizations are progressively promoting climate-smart agriculture (CSA) to maximize productivity, increase the resilience of livelihoods and farming systems (adaptation), and minimize or stop greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere (mitigation). This review synthesized knowledge on the prospects of CSA and climate change in addressing the adverse effects of climate change and variability by revising 99 peer-reviewed journal articles.
