Background: Cardiac-specific troponin (Tn) serum concentrations have proved to be important diagnostic and prognostic markers for acute myocardial infarction. Elevated levels in the setting of noncardiac diseases such as intracerebral hemorrhage also may provide useful prognostic information regarding outcome.

Methods: A systematic review of the English-language medical literature was performed using PubMed. Articles reporting original data were included.

Results: Ten reports qualified for review. A spectrum of cardiac abnormalities was observed in studied patients, sometimes more frequently in those with Tn elevations, whereas some had no such abnormalities, even if Tn was detected. Although some studies suggested a worse outcome in patients with elevated Tn levels, the findings were inconsistent.

Conclusions: At this time, although the literature suggests an association between cardiac-specific Tn elevations and clinical events in patients with intracranial hemorrhage, data are insufficient to conclude that there is a consistent predictive value or to recommend routine Tn monitoring for prognosis.

Background: Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) and hypertension are the two most common risk factors of intracranial hemorrhage leading to cognitive impairment, but less is known about how the two relate. A better understanding of the association between these risk factors is a key step towards developing new strategies to manage hypertension and attenuate CAA progression.

Method: This study analyzed data from 2,510 participants in the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center (NACC) dataset who had CAA and longitudinal blood pressure (BP) measurements before death.

Background: Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is a significant contributor to hemorrhagic stroke, notably lobar intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and convexity subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). This study describes the natural occurrence of ICH and SAH events among veterans, including those with AD, within the United States Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (VAHS).

Method: The VAHS database was evaluated to identify ICD-10 codes for ICH (I61.

Background: Stroke secondary to intracranial atherosclerotic disease (ICAD) is associated with high recurrence risk despite currently available secondary prevention strategies. In patients with systemic atherosclerosis, a significant reduction of stroke risk with no increase in intracranial or fatal hemorrhage was seen when rivaroxaban 2.5 mg twice daily was added to aspirin.

Objective: To describe the incidence of bleeding and thrombotic complications in VA-ECMO according to anticoagulation strategy.

Design: This systematic review and meta-analysis included randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and observational studies reporting bleeding and thrombotic complications in VA-ECMO. The incidence of primary outcomes according to anticoagulation drug and monitoring test was described.

Objective: To investigate the independent risk factors for short-term mortality in patients with spontaneous cerebellar hemorrhage (SCH) based on Mimics software of medical image control system.

Methods: The clinical data of SCH patients treated at Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from January, 2010 to December, 2021 was retrospectively analyzed and compared, including gender, age, underlyin g diseases, Glasgow coma scale (GCS) and blood pressure at admission, laboratory indicators, imaging data, and short-term (3 weeks after onset) survival status. The imaging examination parameters were accurately calculated using Mimics software, including hematoma volume, longest diameter, and maximum cross-sectional area of cerebellar hemorrhage.
