A definition of the scope of aromatic substrates that participate with catharanthine in an Fe(III)-mediated coupling reaction, an examination of the key structural features of catharanthine required for participation in the reaction, and the development of a generalized indole functionalization reaction that bears little structural relationship to catharanthine itself are detailed. In addition to providing insights into the mechanism of the Fe(III)-mediated coupling reaction of catharanthine with vindoline suggesting the reaction conducted in acidic aqueous buffer may be radical mediated, the studies provide new opportunities for the preparation of previously inaccessible vinblastine analogs and define powerful new methodology for the synthesis of indole-containing natural and unnatural products.

A Cu(I) photoredox-enabled reaction that selectively incorporates a difluoroalkyl group into -aryl glycine derivatives has been established. Using a bench-stable [PhPCFH]Br salt, the -CFH group could be installed either directly on the α-carbon of the glycine backbone or in a three-component fashion using an alkene as a bridge. A series of glycine derivatives have been evaluated, providing access to diverse unnatural amino esters and dipeptides with a -CHF unit.

Purpose: We aimed to explore the mechanism by which Boron-doped nano-hydroxyapatite (B-nHAp) facilitates the proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts through controlled release of B.
Methods: B-nHAp characterization was accomplished by means of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, and transmission electron microscopy. Human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hBMSCs) were subjected to flow cytometry, alizarin red S staining, and cell counting kit-8 assay for proliferation and differentiation determination.

Carbon dioxide capture underpins an important range of technologies that can help to mitigate climate change. Improved carbon capture technologies that are driven by electrochemistry are under active development, and it was recently found that supercapacitor energy storage devices can reversibly capture and release carbon dioxide. So-called supercapacitive swing adsorption (SSA) has several advantages over traditional carbon dioxide capture technologies such as lower energy consumption and the use of nontoxic materials.

Chlorpromazine (CPZ) is an abused sedative that is extensively metabolized in organisms. However, the metabolic pathway of CPZ in aquatic organisms is still unclear. In this study, CPZ metabolites was analyzed in grass carp exposed to CPZ in the raising water using ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole Orbitrap mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap MS).
