A left atrium thrombus, potentially a life-threatening complication, is an extremely rare in early infancy. Most cases are caused by mal-placement of central venous catheters or related to congenital heart diseases with left atrial blood congestion. Here we present an extremely low birth weight infant who developed a left atrial thrombus during the course of late onset circulatory dysfunction. The thrombus was successfully treated by recombinant tissue plasminogen activator. A hemodynamically unstable condition like late onset circulatory dysfunction should be taken into consideration as a potential risk condition of this rare disease.

Background And Purpose: While the pulsatility index (PI) measured by transcranial Doppler (TCD) has broader associations with outcomes in neurocritical care, its use in monitoring delayed cerebral infarction (DCI) in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is not endorsed by current clinical guidelines. Recognizing that arterial pressure gradient (ΔP) can be estimated using PI, we investigated the potential significance of TCD-estimated ΔP.
Methods: In this observational study of 186 SAH patients, we recorded the mean cerebral blood flow velocity (mCBFV) and PI values from the middle cerebral artery, along with corresponding blood pressures.

After being exposed, microplastics mostly bioaccumulated in guts and gills of fish, then, through circulation, spread and bioaccumulated in other tissues. Circulatory system of fish is impacted by the microplastic bioaccumulation in their tissues, influencing a number of hematological indices that are connected with immunity, osmotic pressure, blood clotting, molecular transport and fat metabolism. Variables like size, dose, duration, food consumption and species, all affect the bioaccumulation and toxicity of the microplastic, rather than the exposure routes.

Background: This case report highlights the conduction disorder anomalies associated with dengue infection, particularly bradyarrhythmias due to dysfunction of the sinus node and atrioventricular node, which may require cardiac stimulation such as pacemaker implantation. This case emphasizes the importance of continuous monitoring and the use of additional diagnostic techniques to detect complications in a timely manner.
Case Summary: A 31-year-old male patient was admitted to our institution with symptoms of dyspnoea, orthopnoea, and severe bradycardia.

Pump is a vital component for expelling the perfusate in small animal isolated organ normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) systems whose flexible structure and rhythmic contraction play a crucial role in maintaining perfusion system homeostasis. However, the continuous extrusion forming with the rigid stationary shaft of the peristaltic pumps can damage cells, leading to metabolic disorders and eventual dysfunction of transplanted organs. Here, we developed a novel biomimetic blood-gas system (BBGs) for preventing cell damage.

Background: The oxygen reactivity index (ORx) reflects the correlation between focal brain tissue oxygen (pbtO) and the cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP). Previous, small cohort studies were conflicting on whether ORx conveys cerebral autoregulatory information and if it is related to outcome in traumatic brain injury (TBI). Thus, we aimed to investigate these issues in a larger TBI cohort.
