A total of 54 women with acute salpingitis were treated intravenously with ampicillin/sulbactam or cefoxitin in a prospective, randomized, ongoing study. Of the organisms isolated, Gram-negative species (excluding Neisseria gonorrhoeae) were considerably more likely to produce beta-lactamase than were Gram-positive species. Clinical efficacy was 94% for 2 g ampicillin plus 1 g sulbactam and 89% for 2 g cefoxitin, all given intravenously every 6 h. The addition of sulbactam, an irreversible beta-lactamase inhibitor, to ampicillin restored both the microbiological and clinical activities of ampicillin. Both regimens were equally safe and demonstrated good efficacy in the treatment of the acute, symptomatic phase of infection.

Systemic therapy for metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma (mRCC) has dramatical-ly improved in the last years because of the use of immunotherapy with checkpoint inhibi-tor combinations with or without targeted therapies against the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptors (VEGFR). As a result, patients with mRCC have prolonged sur-vival time, but they ultimately develop resistance and the disease progresses, which high-lights the critical need for novel treatment options. The Hypoxia-inducible Factor (HIF) pathway is central to the pathophysiology of ccRCC and von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease.

Interleukin-12 (IL-12) is a potent NK cell-stimulating cytokine, but the presence of immunosuppressive myeloid cells such as myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) can inhibit IL 12-induced NK-cell cytotoxicity. Thus, we hypothesized that trabectedin, a myeloid cell-depleting agent, would improve the efficacy of IL-12 in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). In vitro treatment of healthy donor NK cells with trabectedin increased expression of the activation marker CD69 and mRNA expression of T BET (Tbx21), the cytotoxic ligands TRAIL (TNFSF10) and Fas ligand (FASLG) and the dendritic cell (DC)-recruiting chemokine lymphotactin (XCL1).

Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) improve survival of patients with mature B-cell malignancies. Fcγ-receptor dependent effector mechanisms kill tumor cells but can promote antigen loss through trogocytosis, contributing to treatment failures. Cell-bound mAbs trigger the complement cascade to deposit C3 activation fragments and lyse cells.

Purpose Of Review: Endometrial cancer (EC) is rising in incidence, particularly in younger, premenopausal women, due to increasing rates of obesity and delayed childbearing. This review evaluates current and emerging endocrine therapies, with a focus on fertility-preserving approaches for early-stage EC and treatment options for advanced or recurrent disease.
Recent Findings: Fertility-sparing endocrine therapies, such as medroxyprogesterone acetate, megestrol acetate, and levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine devices, achieve high response rates but carry recurrence risks.

The Chansu injection (CSI), a sterile aqueous solution derived from Chansu, is applied in clinical settings to support antitumor and anti-radiation treatments. CSI's principal active components, bufadienolides (≥90%), demonstrate potential effects on pancreatic cancer (PDAC), but their underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study aimed to elucidate the antitumor effects and pathways associated with CSI in PDAC.
