Background: Metoclopramide, a dopamine antagonist employed for its antiemetic effects, can precipitate neuropsychiatric adverse effects, including extrapyramidal symptoms and, in a few instances, acute psychosis. Although there have been reports of metoclopramide-induced psychosis in elderly individuals, there is no documentation of such incidents in children as far as we are aware.
Case Presentation: This case report describes an 11-year-old girl with a history of mild intellectual disability and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, managed with 10 mg of methylphenidate daily.

Acute dystonia is a neurological condition characterized by involuntary muscle contractions that can affect various parts of the body. It is commonly triggered by the use of antipsychotic medications, especially within the first few days after administration. Respiratory acute laryngeal dystonia, a particularly severe form of this condition and a very subtype of laryngeal dystonia, can lead to respiratory distress and airway obstruction if not promptly treated.

Dopamine receptor antagonists like metoclopramide are frequently used in a variety of clinical contexts to treat gastrointestinal disorders and control nausea and vomiting. However, it is associated with a high incidence of extrapyramidal side effects (EPS) in children, including dystonic movements and torticollis. This is the instance of a 9-year-old girl who developed abnormal movements of the neck and tongue, along with torticollis, within 48 hours of receiving intravenous metoclopramide for gastroenteritis.

Patients with chronic liver disease (CLD) are prone to complications associated with impaired liver functioning. This coupled with iron-deficiency anaemia (IDA) can predispose them to multiple comorbidities. We present an interesting case of a 69-year-old woman with a background history of liver cirrhosis due to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) with frequent travels to Bangladesh, a southeast Asian country known for having high levels of manganese (Mn) in water for domestic use.
