Nursing educators face the challenge of presenting educational programs to meet the learning needs of four diverse generational groups of nurses. This cross-sectional survey examined if there is a relationship between staff nurses' generation and their learning styles. Results show that a combination of years in practice, time lapsed since last educational program ended, current school enrollment, degree earned, and generation influences preferred learning style. Implications for educators are discussed.

Fraud in alcoholic beverages through counterfeiting and adulteration is rising, significantly impacting companies economically. This study aimed to develop a method using near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy (1596-2396 nm) through the bottle, along with machine learning (ML) modeling for beer authentication, quality traits, and control assessment. For this study, 25 commercial beers from different brands, styles, and three types of fermentation were used.

CYCLE-CONSISTENT SELF-SUPERVISED LEARNING FOR IMPROVED HIGHLY-ACCELERATED MRI RECONSTRUCTION.

Proc IEEE Int Symp Biomed Imaging

Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, United States.

Physics-driven deep learning (PD-DL) has become a powerful tool for accelerated MRI. Recent developments have also developed unsupervised learning for PD-DL, including self-supervised learning. However, at very high acceleration rates, such approaches show performance deterioration.

Inquiry-based laboratory experiments, in comparison to traditional "cookbook" style laboratory experiments, more accurately model the work scientists do and engage students in the skills they use. Students who participate in inquiry-based laboratory experiments engage in science practices and develop skills such as critical thinking and argumentation. Despite the abundance of literature surrounding the benefits of inquiry-based laboratory learning approaches, adoption of these instructional approaches has been slow.

Introduction: A pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) programme, including exercise training, education, and behaviour change, is highly recommended in treatment guidelines for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). A new PR educational material for PR using an interactive three-dimensional (3D) visualisation technique was developed. There is little known regarding using 3D in this setting.

Examining Baseline Relations Between Parent-Child Interactions and STEM Engagement and Learning.

Dev Sci

March 2025

The Department of Cognitive and Psychological Sciences, Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island, USA.

Several studies suggest that children's learning and engagement with the content of play activities is affected by the ways parents and children interact. In particular, when parents are overly directive and set more goals during play with their children, their children tend to play less or are less engaged by subsequent challenges with the activity on their own. A concern, however, is that this directed interaction style is only compared with other styles of parent-child interaction, not with a baseline measure of engagement or learning.
