Background: The Vero cell rabies vaccine is currently the most widely used human rabies vaccine. However, owing to the presence of residual host cell DNA (HCD) in the final product and the potential tumorigenicity of the DNA of high-passage Vero cells, the WHO not only sets a limit on the number of times cells used in production can be passaged, but also imposes strict requirements on the amount of residual HCD in the final vaccine product.
Objectives: To systematically reduce the HCD level in the final vaccine product, multiple purification steps are included in the vaccine production process.

Single cell genomics has revolutionized our understanding of neuronal cell types. However, scalable technologies for probing single-cell connectivity are lacking, and we are just beginning to understand how molecularly defined cell types are organized into functional circuits. Here, we describe a protocol to generate high-complexity barcoded rabies virus (RV) for scalable circuit mapping from tens of thousands of individual starter cells in parallel.

Ischemic stroke (IS), a prevalent cerebrovascular disorder, is characterized by high morbidity rates and significant disability. However, relevant drug therapy for IS still suffers from limitations such as limited blood-brain barrier (BBB) penetration efficiency, single therapeutic target, short half-life, and strong side effects. The development of multi-target neuroprotective agents using natural drug molecules with low toxicity and combining them with nanotechnology to improve BBB permeability and drug utilization is an important direction in the development of IS therapeutic strategies.

In 2023, the first and second most reported zoonoses in humans were campylobacteriosis and salmonellosis, respectively.
