The U.S. Army continues to evaluate capabilities associated with the Future of Vertical Lift (FVL) program-a futures program (with a time horizon of 15 years and beyond) intended to replace the current helicopter fleet. As part of the FVL study, we investigated required capabilities for future aeromedical evacuation platforms. This study presents two significant capability findings associated with the future aeromedical evacuation platform and one doctrinal finding associated with medical planning for future brigade operations. The three results follow: (1) Given simplifying assumptions and constraints for a scenario where a future brigade is operating in a 300 x 300 km2, the zero-risk aircraft ground speed required for the FVL platform is 350 nautical miles per hour (knots); (2) Given these same assumptions and constraints with the future brigade projecting power in a circle of radius 150 km, the zero-risk ground speed required for the FVL platform is 260 knots; and (3) Given uncertain casualty locations associated with future brigade stability and support operations, colocating aeromedical evacuation assets and surgical elements mathematically optimizes the 60-minute set covering problem.

The combat medic (68W) will play a critical role in medical operations in the event of future large-scale combat operations (LSCOs). However, the combat medic is largely not prepared for LSCOs. The revised Medical Education and Demonstration of Individual Competence (TC 8-800) state 68Ws much be able to provide advanced airway and trauma management, medication administration, and advanced casualty movement.

The number of reported malaria cases transmitted by Anopheles mosquitoes in the Republic of Korea (ROK) increased from 420 in 2022 to 746 in 2023, a 77.6% increase. Eight Anopheles species are currently reported in the ROK, including six species belonging to the Anopheles Hyrcanus Group and one species each belonging to the Barbirostris Group and Lindesayi Group.

Background: The objective was to summarize the methodology used to reach consensus for recommended minimum data elements that should be collected and reported when conducting injury surveillance research in military settings. This paper summarizes the methodology used to develop the international Minimum Data Elements for surveillance and Reporting of Musculoskeletal Injuries in the MILitary (ROMMIL) statement.
Methods: A Delphi methodology was employed to reach consensus for minimum reporting elements.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) seriously threatens human health and the quality of life, cognitive impairment is considered as a common complication of T2DM. Neuroimaging meta-analysis found brain functional and structural abnormality in patients with T2DM. Therefore, the purpose of the meta-analysis was to identify brain regions of patients with T2DM-related cognitive impairment (T2DM-CI) where functional and structural indicators changed together or could not synchronize.

This paper explores the effect of waste rubber grain size on the porosity, modulus of elasticity, thermal properties, and soundproofing performance of polymer composites with different thicknesses (10, 15, and 20 mm). All properties were tested in accordance with European standards, with the exception of porosity, which was measured using Archimedes' principle. The findings indicate that with a consistent amount of polyurethane glue, finer rubber grains result in composites with higher porosity, leading to a lower modulus of elasticity but enhanced thermal and sound insulation.
