The Hodgkin's Disease.6 study is critically examined, and the question of whether or not radiation should be used at all in the treatment of patients with limited-stage Hodgkin's lymphoma is argued to be more relevant than what type of radiation to use, given the remarkably good outcome with chemotherapy alone.

Maximum Tumor Diameter is Associated with Relapse Risk in Limited-Stage Hodgkin Lymphoma: An International Study.

Tumour bulk is an established prognostic factor in Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) but most patients with limited-stage (LS) HL do not have 'bulk' by standard binary definitions. In the RAPID trial, maximum tumor diameter (MTD) was associated with risk of relapse for LS-HL patients achieving PET-negativity after ABVD chemotherapy. We aimed to externally validate these findings in the H10 trial.

Radiotherapy is routinely used for management of limited-stage follicular lymphoma (FL), yet half of patients ultimately relapse. We hypothesized that the presence of specific gene mutations may predict outcomes. We performed targeted sequencing of a 69-gene panel in 117 limited-stage FL patients treated with radiotherapy and identified recurrently mutated genes.

Treatment approaches for older Hodgkin lymphoma patients.

Curr Opin Oncol

University of Cologne, Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital Cologne, Department I of Internal Medicine, Center for Integrated Oncology Aachen Bonn Cologne Duesseldorf (CIO ABCD).

Purpose Of Review: Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) occurs at two age peaks around 25 and 60 years of age. Due to varying fitness and co-morbidities older patients are a heterogeneous group that has relatively poor treatment outcomes. The evolving therapeutic landscape for older HL is summarized herein.

We explored the frequency of CD14CD10CD45HLA-DRSSC neutrophils (CD10 neutrophils) in patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), and their immunologic characteristics and clinical significance. Patients with NHL who were newly diagnosed (NDP; n = 33), in remission (RMP; n = 28) and relapsed (RLP; n = 29) were included, and 47 volunteers were recruited as healthy controls (HCs). The frequency of CD10 neutrophils in the peripheral blood from HC and patients with NHL was detected.

Background: ABVD (doxorubicin, bleomycin, vinblastine, and dexamethasone) is a proven, curative regimen for Hodgkin lymphoma (HL). Prospective data describing HL treatment in sub-Saharan Africa are limited. We aimed to fill this knowledge gap, using data from Malawi.
