Background: Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) tube insertion, a routine procedure for long-term enteral nutrition, serves as a crucial intervention for patients who are incapable of tolerating oral intake or meeting adequate nutritional requirements. PEG tube placement carries complications like bleeding and infection. Impact of PEG tubes on the 30-day and long-term mortality in HIV patients is unknown.

Introduction: The postoperative management of single-stage laryngotracheal reconstruction (ssLTR) plays a significant role in the surgery's outcomes. The relatively prolonged period in which the child remains intubated and sedated to allow graft healing may be complicated by pulmonary sequelae, airway obstruction, withdrawal symptoms, and eventually failed extubation. This study aims to assess post-ssLTR practices among pediatric otolaryngologists.

Our aim is to determine the rate of unexpected malrotation identified on routine preoperative upper gastrointestinal (UGI) contrast study in infants with congenital heart disease (CHD) prior to gastrostomy tube (GT) placement and quantify any associated delay in care. We performed a retrospective review of infants with CHD who underwent GT placement following initial cardiac surgery at a single center between 2016 and 2021. Patients were identified in the electronic medical record.
