Genome-wide functional genetic screening has been widely used in the biomedicine field, which makes it possible to find a needle in a haystack at the genetic level. In cancer research, gene mutations are closely related to tumor development, metastasis, and recurrence, and the use of state-of-the-art powerful screening technologies, such as clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat (CRISPR), to search for the most critical genes or coding products provides us with a new possibility to further refine the cancer mapping and provide new possibilities for the treatment of cancer patients. Sheehan syndrome (SS) is postpartum pituitary necrosis leading to severe hypopituitarism. Severe bleeding during delivery and postpartum period results in ischemic necrosis of the enlarged pituitary gland during pregnancy. The improved obstetrical care decreased the incidence of SS significantly, however SS should always be kept in mind in the etiologies of hypopitutarism in women which can be easily recognized by medical history of the patient.

Background: Arterial diseases like coronary artery disease, carotid stenosis, peripheral artery disease, and abdominal aortic aneurysm have high morbidity and mortality, making them key research areas. Their multifactorial nature complicates patient treatment and prevention. Biomarkers offer insights into the biochemical and molecular processes, while social factors also significantly impact patients' health and quality of life.

In very different societal contexts, parenthood has been identified as a critical turning point in life course trajectories. In this qualitative study, we explore parenthood as a turning point for 40 young women and 40 young men in prisons across Latin America. We study the impact of parenthood on criminal trajectories, identify gender differences, and analyze the different mechanisms at work.
