Metabolic syndrome (MS) represents several diseases encompassing a heterogeneous group of biochemical and physiological abnormalities characterized by structural and functional alterations in the myocardium, including the endothelium of the coronary arteries. MS also affects a substantial portion of the global population. Understanding the risk factors, the development and treatment associated with MS are of paramount importance for early identification, treatment and prevention.

Background: Inflammation markers in the blood may indicate a higher risk of unstable atherosclerosis. Selectins, a group of transmembrane glycoproteins, contribute to inflammation by helping certain blood cells bind to the endothelium.
Methods: The study included 100 patients with stable early-onset coronary artery disease (CAD), 75 men (aged 50-54) and 25 women (aged 55-64).

Objective: Cinnamic acid (CA) is a bioactive compound isolated from cinnamon. It has been demonstrated to ameliorate inflammation and metabolic diseases, which are associated with endothelial dysfunction. This study was aimed to study the potential protective effects of CA against diabetes-associated endothelial dysfunction and its underlying mechanisms.

Vascular inflammation regulates endothelial pathophenotypes, particularly in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Dysregulated lysosomal activity and cholesterol metabolism activate pathogenic inflammation, but their relevance to PAH is unclear. Nuclear receptor coactivator 7 () deficiency in endothelium produced an oxysterol and bile acid signature through lysosomal dysregulation, promoting endothelial pathophenotypes.

Background: Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by the accumulation of lipids and leukocytes within the arterial wall. By studying the aortic transcriptome of atherosclerosis-prone apolipoprotein E (ApoE) mice, we aimed to identify novel players in the progression of atherosclerosis.
Methods: RNA-Seq analysis was performed on aortas from ApoE and wild-type mice.
